If I ever wreck the truck I'm dropping the motor and trans into the jeep. About 3000 lbs curb weight.

Google says my truck is around 4900.

Google says the Colorado maxes out at 4200. That would be fun with a 300hp engine and normal size tires.

Coming off well? Is that chrome underneath or the aluminum?

Unfortunately this is only photoshop. Thinking about painting the older wheels black and keeping the center chrome of the new.

With black edge. That's what the current wheels look like, just solid, not split spoke.

I spent some time reading about L92 swaps. It's about as close to plug and play as you can get. The 2009 ECM even has code to drive the 2010+ VVT. I'd just need to add a couple wires and enable it. Drop the long block in, flash the tables from a 6.2L SUV, and boom...417hp.

Can the trans handle it?

Stock, and with close to 200k on it? Probably not for long. Upgraded? Sure. I'll also keep looking to see if anyone solved the 6L80 swap. I saw where someone got one working in a 2WD application with this old ECM and trans software from an XLR-V of all things. So at least the software side seems possible.
GM stuff is like Legos. Sometimes you've just got to find that one weird piece that only came with a few kits.

As Jeff said, not for long. It's the same one we have. Can't handle much over stock and even stock they are not that good. If touching the engine you need to either put in a built 4l60e or swap out for something stronger like the 4l80e or 6l80e. Requires a bit of mod work but will handle anything you throw at it.

They didn’t put a heavier duty trans than the same one in the avalanche? Damn. Chances are it’s been rebuilt then.

Cheap and easy insurance is this.

I did that along with the vette servo.
In our case it's easy. Jeff would need to remove the transmission to install some parts I think.

If there is a way then Jeff will figure it out.
Leaving to GM to make a slew of transmissions that can’t handle hp upgrades.

6-speed requires a few custom transfer case parts that don't seem to be available any more. I'd probably just go with some modest upgrades to the 4-speed to keep it simple.

Did they give you an access panel to the fuel pump? You know if you keep it then it’s just a matter of time.

Gotta drop the tank.
The fuel gauge is screwed up. I need to do some diagnostics, but I suspect the level sender in the tank. I can replace the whole pump and sender assembly, but I don't want to do that if I'm gonna put a bigger pump in.
I also want to know why the aftermarket level senders are 3x the price of the OE GM part.
