So if I wanted to get a second key, as I only have one and the valet key. Is there a cheap way to do that? Or just use my buddy at AAA that says it’s about 100 bucks.

Coop
Make sure you get the right key that matches the ID stuff inside where the hard key is. I bought a key off eBay that was supposed to be for a Focus, and it wasn't, so they could not program it. If you have 2 FOBs that are programmed already, you can program a 3rd yourself. If you only have 1, you have to go to the dealer.

I had to go to the dealer because I had to get a replacement second FOB (ran my second one through the washer).

He does work for the dealers in town. So I’m sure he will know. Was just curious how much others might have paid.

The other option is ForScan you can basically do everything the dealership can do with the full version of it.

Aaron, you ever check your brake pads? Guy on the escape forum did his at 70k and said they were very worn down. Was thinking of checking mine and if need be, wanted to go with a little better pad than stock.

You done anything?

Last time at the dealer they said they looked brand new after 50k miles. I do a lot of “highway” driving. My commute to work is 25 miles each way and all 55mph roads, with only 3 stoplights between home and work. I have not checked them myself.

Changed the trans fluid tonight. BLACK. After doing some talking and reading it’s apparently more about smell than color. Doesn’t mean I like it.

Also....who the fuck doesn’t make a front jacking location. Stupid ford.

Anyways. Did 4qts and prob all in my head but I believed it felt better. Prob gonna do it again in 3k as you have to remove that stupid cover to change the oil and I would like to change the oil once and look at it. Plus I need to do the center diff as well.

Ran a couple tanks of gas, my cars gas mileage calculation is pretty much dead on. With in .3 each time. I’ve been using premium and getting 26mpg average. Very easy to be 22 though. Highway could easily be 29 though. I wish it was geared a little lower. It will not shift into 6th till 55. Well I cruise my backroads at 45-50 but if I go 55 I get much better gas mileage. Not really a big deal.

The sport setting is fun. This crossover is very quick when it wants to be. Overall I’m enjoying the vehicle.

Yeah the ex' Escape was reasonably fun for what it was. She still loves her and has a second one now. I had some issues with the seat though, for some reason GM seats fit me better than Ford seats do. Other than that it was fine.

The titanium model feels so much better but you are correct. The seating isn’t what I would like either.

Yeah she had the Titanium. It was fine for the most part but my back wasn't super happy on long drives and from what I recall, the seat cushion was a bit short as well.

The reverse lights on this thing were horrible. So I looked up and found the right led bulbs. What a pain in the ass. Whoever okayed that needs to be fired. It was not very easy and not fun. Had to take off the whole plastic on the inside and remove the lense to get to it.

Anyways. They are much lighter but it maybe my seating position and light angle of why they suck. My crv has tinted windows all around and it was one step below legal. But the reverse lights were up high and I could see fine. These are lower.

Install auxiliary lights to help. Harbor Freight has a line of led lights now, Roadshock that are pretty bright. My cousin actually installed the 3" spot light pattern ones in place of the fogs on his STI.

I don’t think I will go that far. The lights did make things easier for the back up camera so I will just live with it. I have thought about something better down low. We get a lot of fog out in the lake when temp changes and it could use something down low.

Don't even get me started on the reverse triangle on the Volt. Between that and that shitty camera I can't see shit behind me in the dark. Completely useless.

Been driving the avalanche a lot lately as it’s new and different. Took the escape the other day, it really is a fun vehicle. At the end of the day, wish it had better seats but it really fits a lot of what I wanted.

Finally got to 95k so I changed the oil. Went with the full synthetic penzoil mentioned in the other thread. Oil life status still said 50% but there was a sticker in the car saying change it at 93k. So I just figured do it once and set it myself. I could see dealers just resetting it.

I bought oil to do the PTU, gonna look that up here in a min and next baby nap gonna try and do it as well.
