Anyways looks like a fun build. Small car big push rod engine. What could be better?

Honestly, I'd go with the standalone harness. It'll be nicer and more reliable than anything I could build, regardless of time.

I'll do what I can to help if you need help getting it up and going though.

I think that was the garage of the person he bought it from.

Just buy the harness imo. Debated that for my build for a while. Ended up biting the bullet and doing it. Mine was $900 though

And that was just for a merge, I providedboth harnesses.

I don't think he'll need a professional merge since he's gutting the car of all the accessories. The only things left besides the standalone harness would be lights and maybe gauges, and those can go on their own isolated circuits.

HF benches are ok, but maybe try your local Craigslist first. I've found some really nice ones around here.

Think twice on the air tools. If you don't get a massive compressor, you'll spend more time waiting for the tank to fill up. You might want to look into some quality electric tools instead. I've got a 29 gal vertical HF compressor and the only thing I really use it for is tires and die grinders. I have air ratchets and impacts, but they're just cumbersome and ineffective. Mine's quieter than some compressors, so it's still pretty loud. Depending on how your house is laid out, that could create some frustration with your lady.

Ryobi has a really nice line of electric tools. Home Depot sells them, and they've got a few bundle kits that are a really good deal. But some of the bundles you can only get online.

Eh I've got a 25 year old compressor and while it can struggle to keep up depending on the tool you're using it still does the job. I've used it for a needle scaler, die grinder, and and even to paint the jambs and underhood on the 3000gt.

I do have the 1/2 HF battery impact and that sumbitch has some power.

My dad has the Ryobi 18v impact and it's okay for most car lug nuts but struggles on most things with a torque setting over 150. My HF Earthquake pneumatic impact on the other hand is far stronger and has pulled off things with far higher torque settings with ease. My craftsman air compressor has not problems keeping up with it.

They have a kinda Datsun look to them. I like them.

At least you have a garage. My 3000 is sitting under a car cover that is covered in snow at the moment. It's also 10*.

Except when your propane tank goes empty. And the one you steal from the grill is also empty. :d oh:

I love my heated and cool garage. But I’ve spent many years with just a propane heater.
