Testy...testy are we? Just a TN joke.
Drove mine about a month ago and gave it a wash. Son loved every moment of scrubbing it clean.

Depends on the stereotype. I'm good with the Subaru/vaping stereotype.

Pretty much good with most Subaru stereotypes.

Are they really stereotypes if they are true?

While I was off work for the holidays I noticed an exhaust smell in the cabin especially when idling. Took it in just before Christmas and it has a leak at the cat. Apparently the whole cat has to be replaced and thanks to the 10 year 150k emissions warranty it's all free .

Not sure yet. They just did the diagnostic and then had to order it. It was on back order but just arrived, I’m taking it in Thursday morning. Yeah while I’m annoyed it had the failure a new cat at 86k miles is nice

I was gonna say that better be covered under emissions.
The flex sections under the heat shield split. Very common.

Yep they're also going to replace the stereo under the 7year 100k extended warranty we bought when we got the car. That's on backorder for who knows how long. The lamination on the screen tends to slowly fail and they become hazy with the digitizer lines visible making it hard or impossible to see in any lighting.

And the exhaust leak came back and is worse than before. Sounds like an air-cooled VW under acceleration now. I took it back in today and they put new gaskets on again because one had visible exhaust leak marks on it. They also filled up the tank for me since I had to come back so that was nice. Unfortunately when I left it still sounded like an exhaust leak. Tech swears it's not an exhaust leak

but it sounds exactly the same as when I first got there today. They put me in a loaner car for now and will have someone else look at it tomorrow. Apparently Subaru changed the design of the cat and now some older cars don't seal quite right with the new design.
In some frustration I may have sent this to my wife

Hatch struts started to fail awhile back and recently it wouldn't stay up at all after hitting the power hatch button. Bought a set off of rock auto and it seems to have fixed the issue.

Sounds like new car time. Looks like we are in the same boat.

We were talking about it but given the uncertainty in federal funding we are holding off for a bit.
