Going to research it more tomorrow. Need to see what all is out there. That's just what I read on a few forums as best with stock heads and converter with the 5.3

Thoughts on just cam and not touching long tubes?

Been doing some research and a lot of people are getting codes from doing long tubes, even if they modify the factory y pipe to keep stock cats. With emissions testing here I don't want to fuck with that too much.

Pretty sure I've got some warped rotors. Starting to get whole truck shake/vibration under braking. Don't feel it in the pedal or steering wheel, but can feel it in the seat and body of the truck. Going to give the wheels a good shake to see if bearings, but other than that not sure what else might be causing it?

Could be a u joint too but it's more noticeable under braking.

Felt OK today except under braking. I know we talked about it before but I don't think we came to an answer.

Recommended rotors and pads? Looking for better stopping power than stock.

I've been running Raybestos Enhanced Hybrid pads and rotors for a while now and I'm generally pretty happy with them.

I have had a bad u-joint cause vibrations while braking. It was a Tacoma... Just a couple weeks ago.

For more stopping power I have performance friction on my g37 and the exploder. No complaints about them.

I'll check the u joints tomorrow. If all good I'll look at brakes.

Took out the shaft. Everything looked and moved good except there was a crack in the plastic ring on one of the caps on the axle side. Took off the cap and the grease and everything looked great and moved freely. Might have cracked when I removed it or previous owner did something because it's a spicer, not oem. Don't think spicer is oem.

It also rode smooth yesterday except when braking. So going to order rotors and pads. Can't find raybestos rotors local. Pfc doesn't make rotors for my chevy apparently.

I can get the z36 for $300 shipped right now. Just nervous about cross drilled and cracking. Plus really mixed reviews. Some go 50k miles and perform great, other trashed in 10

If the ring holding the cap in is plastic it's OEM. Aftermarket uses c clips

All metal. It's the rubber/plastic ring at the base of the cap.

This where I circled is cracked.

Shudder isn't being consistent, but definitely felt on braking. Kind of felt it in the pedal today too.

Think I am going to try power stop rotors (non drilled/slotted) and hawks LTS pads.

These rotors - https://www.powerstop.com/product/power ... 20calipers

Unless someone thinks I shouldn't?

For about the same price I can get ebc yellow pads and rotors. Probably overkill but better reviews.

Headers are on sale again.

Just not sure if I want to spend the money on it or start a savings to buy a chevelle or gto.

Don't spend money modding your truck when you could put that towards a true fun vehicle.
