Only really the trans fluid and coolant. Rear diff is 150k. Plugs are easy and my factory shocks lasted the whole time...and I took mine on some gnarly mine roads regularly for work.

My dad went by and looked at it today. I couldn't get the carfax online, so my dad brought it to me. It was an Idaho car, so a mild salting state. When I was looking at it yesterday I noticed the outside portion of the frame ans suspension was recently painted black. So they were hiding some mild salt rust.

Idaho isn’t bad at all. Depending on what area it’s likely it never saw salt. Just sand or lava rock.

With tax and license it's typically about 8-9% I usually just use 10% for simple calculations.

I still like the f-150's more.

It's a good deal shorter in overall length so it's easier to maneuver in parking lots. I can also get a former rental vehicle a year old for a similar price as a 5 year old similarly equipped F-150 with close to double the miles.

I think the pricing is a bit closer than that for apples to apples trucks. Whats the towing capacity difference as well?

Also, if the SUV's depreciate that much quicker, its not necessarily a good thing when thinking long term.

Towing capacity is pretty close. The Expeditions I'm looking at have the big tow package so they are rated at over 9000lbs. The 14 F150 I test drove on Sunday is only rated for 7700lbs

I used to sell former rentals all the time. They were typically nicer than vehicles that someone had traded in.

Yeah rentals are a catch 22. They tend to be more maintained regularly, but they have the potential to have been abused and damaged by people who rented it to beat up on.

My wife's vehicle was a rental and we are happy with it, but I have gone and seen some that are rentals and ran quickly the other way. I think they need to be looked at just like any other car.

Yeah I don't think Limited Expeditions are typically rented to be beat up on
