I keep my truck and vette on tenders all the time. Truck because has lots of different potential power draws. Vette because known issue that after about 2 weeks they tend to create issues of low battery.

When it’s next to the house it does. But it was at the top. But it also was doing good all summer as long as I started it and moved it while I was mowing. So 3 days didn’t seem like a big deal.

Got home today. Was gonna jump start it and let it run to charge. Freaker started up. Now it’s 30 degrees instead of 1. No jump start. Just started.

But then I cleaned the driveway best I could. Couldn’t park the escape up top. So…take it down the driveway. Started to slide. So now it’s just parked on the driveway. It’s suppose to warm up more so hopefully later I can get it unstuck and not die. The wife sent the kids to the other end of the house. Was freaking out. Doesn’t help a vehicle went into her school and almost killed her.

The driveway was put in by my dad. I wasn’t part of it.

After multiple hours of chipping away ice. Lots of sliding. Finally got it in the garage.

Gutters broke. Solid ice and the snow coming off the roof pulled them down.

Fun times.

Roads are getting better but still not getting above freezing till Tuesday. Going to try the avalanche again in the morning. Gonna keep the jump pack inside the house instead of in the car so hopefully it will work if need be. Did take the avalanche out in town today for a good hour drive. So hopefully the 8 degrees tonight will be better than the 1 degree it did have.

Didn’t start.

Till it did.

Didn’t start. Put the jump pack in it. It worked, still wouldn’t start. Got pissed. Got the other vehicle. Swapped stuff over. But tried it one more time before I left and it started.

So what’s diff? Both today and last time I unlocked it with the key. Before I left I used the key fob. It’s factory key fob. Unlocked. And it started.

So I wonder if it’s me. Don’t see why the key should be the issue. It’s not a year with a micro chip. So it should all work. But that’s the only thing that’s the same and what I’ve done diff. And I used the key because I couldn’t push the button with my glove.

Then picked up a split unit for the bonus room.

What do people do who don’t have trucks?

Got the amp replaced. I just cut the bracket. Didn’t wanna but this made it an easier job.

Now I need to do the front brakes before summer. Going to go with 07 and up avalanche. Little bigger stuff. Not looking forward to it as I tried to take off the calipers back when I had the 2020 calipers to try on….I couldn’t budge the bolt. Since then I bought the electric impact, and that bolt heater tool. So hopefully it will all work out.
