Almost a year later and it still puts a big smile on my face when I drive it.

Mentioned it in shout, but had fun with another vette today. Orange C7 ZR1. Kicked my ass but was fun going back and forth for a bit. About 5 miles on the freeway.

Kind of mentioned this in the chat, but might be looking at the s/c sooner rather than later. Waiting to hear back on a quote from my guy over at Kaizen. He is out of town until next week.

Having them add the cost of doing the harmonic balancer while in there since the extra power will not help the reliability on those and adding in an external transmission cooler. For the A&A kit, after a chat with them, we agreed the Ti head unit, 50mm BOV, and 80 LB injectors, with the 3.8 pulley should get me where I want to be.

So should see between 550-600 rwhp. Don't want much more because the stock internals on the transmission can't handle it, especially when I take it to the track. Eventually I will have to upgrade the transmission, but that will be done once/if it breaks.

Was chatting a bit over the weekend with the owner of A&A. He actually recommends Kaizenspeed. Said they are a good group of people who know what they are doing and will treat me right. So that is a good thing.

So the trans goes before the engine? 600 on stock block seems amazing as it’s prob a good bit more at the crank.

Definitely the trans is the weak point. Plenty of people push into the 700-800s on the stock block with a few breaking 1000 without issue.

These engines are crazy stout. And if you somehow want more, swap to an iron truck block.

Not sure if I should do it now or the spring. Can save $500 now, but that isn't much over the price of everything anyway. They are booked out 2-3 weeks and need the car for usually about 7-10 days. That puts me at the end of October if I order this week. Car will be in storage mode probably starting early November. Means can't enjoy it until the spring anyway.

$500 isn't nothing, but I don't know that it's an amazing deal you need to jump on given you're just going to park the car. Might be worth looking back over forums and facebook history and such and see if they occasionally do something like a tax time sale. I doubt this is a one time deal.

If you don’t do it now, you’ll continue to come up with reasons or have legitimate reasons in the future to not do it.

This is about the most he ever takes off for the parts. I have been watching for a while. I don't remember going up past $500 off. There are a few sites that offer it cheaper since vendors, but in the end, it makes more sense for me to get it through the shop. They will honor whatever price is listed on the main A&A site, be the ones to deal with any issues in parts/shipping, and give me a discount on labor rate on their own supplied parts. If I bring in parts the labor rate goes up.

Spending a large sum of money on something that will then just sit in the garage for the next 5 months seems silly to me. I am guessing it comes with a warranty that will run during the downtime as well.

I'm not necessarily saying there will be a better discount. Only that they might offer the same or similar again in the future.

That's true. Didn't think about the warranty.

Spoke with Danielle. As bad as I want it now, it doesn't make sense since it will sit for up to 5 months after install. By spring I will know for sure how much money I am getting from my dads estate (delay because tax issue right now), how much I am getting from selling some gym equipment, and we will both have raises again by then. In the meantime I will keep a separate savings account set up for it that I will not touch. I have the funds right now, but will have even more by spring.

OK. Here is another update of now vs later.

Warranty.

They warranty for 1 year for parts from date of purchase. The shop is slammed in the spring as is A&A so they recommend making the purchase in January/Feb if you want to install in March/April. So if I order now, warranty will be from Oct-Oct. If I wait. Jan-Jan. That is not much different since I can't drive it from Nov-March/April anyway.

Not from A&A directly. I have been talking with the owner off/on for the past year. $500 is usually the best he does. Doesn't do black friday deals and is so busy in the spring he doesn't need to offer deals.

Not the greatest images as my camera on my phone is constantly kind of hazy after I scrapped the lens and the lighting in the garage isn't great, but a polished turd is still a turd right?

Got bored on lunch today and did a quick polish.
