Love it when that happens...

If it wasn't so late in the day, I could have taken the rental car to South Bend and picked them up. I've got a RAV4.

I think you'll be very happy with them. They are by far the best All Season tire on the market.

I agree I had the original AS3 on my old Legacy and they seriously made me question why I'd need summer tires except for the track or autox

I know it doesn't really compare, but I love the Michelin Premier A/S I have on the Volt. Honestly probably the best tire I have had that is not for off road or all terrain. Factory tires squealed all the time and lost traction a lot. These are night and day different. Never squeal or lose traction. Can take bends going way over suggested speed limit without the slightest sign of them losing grip in both rain and dry roads.

Keep your rotation records because you'll need them....

Made it home without any further issues. The new tires seem a little quieter over most kinds of pavement, so that's nice. It does seem like my fuel economy went down a bit though. I'm guessing the new tires aren't as stiff and thus have more rolling resistance? Who knows. As long as it's still roughly the same around town at 17-ish MPG, I won't have lost anything. I don't take enough road trips for long distance cruising economy to affect me much.

Loss of mpg? Time to sell it and move on.

Wonder if the rolling weight is more enough to cause it.

How much did it go down?

I would assume at summer temps, the all seasons would be stiffer (less sticky) than a summer tire.

Could just be the extra weight from a tire with all its tread still.

4-5 maybe? I was getting around 30 in the past, but only 25-26 on the return trip with the new tires.

Yeah I wouldn't expect the tires to cause that much of a drop. On my RS, I did not see any drop going from the Super Sports to the AS/3+.

Wonder if it's something in the gas up there?

I think this probably explains it. Tires are "bigger" now, which accounts for part of the drop, and new tires always have a higher rolling resistance.

Yep. Had a loss of range in electric mode on the Volt when I put on the new ones. But after about 1-2k miles it got better. Used to get about 42 miles electric, new tires dropped it to 38, but now get 40. So still a difference but went from one of those low resistance rolling tires to better all around Michelins.

I try to be helpful, but there's times I wonder why.

The condensed version is, this guy is wanting to put uplevel door trim panels on his car. He doesn't have seat memory, but the uplevel trim has the buttons for it, and he's worried about holes or non-functional buttons.

So I take some pictures of a spare door panel I have, showing him how easy it is to swap his blank, no-buttons trim piece onto the new door panel.

He still doesn't get it.
