It's a much more 'active' exhaust system than what's in the 3S. Hardly surprising given it's ~23 years newer.

I kind of don't want to give it up. But I'd like for it to just be a little louder, and maybe have the valves stay open longer and at different speeds and throttle percentages. I think you can tweak that with HP Tuners as well.

I didn't want to put an exhaust on the Lancer because I didn't want that 4 cylinder buzz, but it needed to be louder. I did put a nice intake on it and the throaty sound it makes now (especially higher in the RPM band/MIVEC) makes it sound right about where I want it.

I wanna put something dumb on the forester. Id love another blitz nur spec r can, but that shits expensive and the type of driving i do with the car it would probably get all banged up.

Just do what literally every other Subaru owner around here seems to do. 3" straight pipe.

lol thats not my style. at least the blitz sounds good. Right now i just have a stock wrx exhaust on it, and its pretty quiet for a subaru.

I'm not in a happy place right now. My car cut a tire on Monday while I was on the way over to the west side of the state for a day trip with a friend. I think it may have already been damaged and picked that point to finally fail. It could have been way worse in a dozen ways though. I was 18 miles west of Ann Arbor, MI. I couldn't get a tow because of crappy cell phone service. Thanks to the run flats, I was able to limp it back to a Chevy dealer in Ann Arbor on back roads.

I was going to go to a generic tire place, but I opted to go to the dealer just in case there was anything wrong with the rim. I had a feeling I might have to leave the car there, and I was more comfortable having it there. The service writer has been great so far. They even hooked me up with a discounted rental car.

The damage was in the side wall, so they couldn't repair it. Then I found out the original Michelin Pilot Super Sports are discontinued. Nobody in the region has them, and the dealer can't work with Tire Rack. So I'm waiting on a quote for a full set of Pilot Sport AS3+ ZPs. As far as I can tell, these were still the original tires and needed to be replaced pretty soon regardless. From everything I've read, these are going to be a better tire for my driving habits anyway. They're the OE base model tire on the C8. They're cheaper too.

The biggest problem at this point is the timing of everything and getting back to KC. I should hopefully know more soon.

Been there my friend. Stranded more than 1x because of shit happening on the road. Sometimes a day or two before I could get back home.

Like I said, it could have been a lot worse. It could have happened a hundred miles from a decently sized town. It could have happened while I was out taking people for rides over 100 mph. It could have happened on the way here and I would have missed the entire trip.

As it is, I'm sitting comfortably at my mom's house waiting for a call back. I've got the rental, so I can go get the car at any time without asking anyone else to take time out of their day. Ann Arbor is an hour closer to KC, and depending on what time I get the car back, I can drive to Fort Wayne or Indianapolis and finish up the trip the next day, rather than driving 13 hours straight through.

So if it had to happen at all, I don't think it could have worked out better than it did.

Good thing for run flats. A lot of people complain about them feeling a little harsh or not the best performance, but when you actually need them they can't be beat.

I had the Pilot Sport AS3+'s on my ST, and now have them for my winter/all-season tire for the RS. Once the Super Sports are done on the RS, it'll get Pilot Sport AS3+ (or 4's when they come out) for the full year. They are a great tire for sure. Awesome in the wet, adequate in the snow, great in the dry too.

When the service writer called me last night, I told her to hold off while I tried to see what my other options were. Then I read a pile of positive reviews on these tires on the forum. It basically came down to, if you're on public roads and pushing these tires hard enough to notice the difference between the MPSS and AS3, you're an asshole who's probably about to hurt someone.

It sounds like there's a minor loss of hot traction in exchange for a major improvement in cold and wet. I can live with that.

Made a couple more calls, finally got a call back.

Maybe it's the Twilight Zone and there's a gremlin on the wing...

Now we're back to just front tires. He can't get the rears for a few days. Even the fronts wouldn't be here until Thursday.

BUT, I can order from Tire Rack and drop ship them, and the dealer will install them. So I'm going to chase that next.
