Every time I drive the Stealth I get a compliment. Well like 9/10 but it happens very often.

I mean, even I get compliments for the Jeep So take compliments with a grain of salt haha.

Got bored on lunch today. Did what they call the F1 mod for the paddle shifters. Basically swaps the wires for the right paddle. Normally you push for upshift on either paddle or pull for down. Doesn't matter if you use the left or right paddle. The mod I did lets you pull the left for down shift, and right you pull for up shift. Basically like 99% of cars with paddle shifters. Now if you push the right one it down shifts.

Took it for a spin after work. Lot more fun to run through the gears and listen to the exhaust.

One thing I have noticed though is that the exhaust has shifted again. It now hits the transmission a bit on the drivers side. Need to see if I can shift it over ever so slightly. It is just enough you can hear/feel it on certain bumps and it just nips the lip of the transmission pan, but not always. Also want to go around and re-torque all the suspension parts.

I always wondered why they set the C6 tap shift up like that. I've never seen anyone say they like it that way. Glad it was an easy swap.

It must be a thing with aftermarket Corvette exhausts. Mine does the same thing as yours if it's not adjusted just so.

Question because I am curious - how good are the paddle shifts on the car? Like is it really that much more effective than the auto?

Not really. They have a delay so it is not anything like a DSG. A tune helps. It is just nice because it lets you control what gear you are in when in sport mode. Helps to keep engine in the higher rev ranges when you need the power right away or when using the engine to help brake. Or in a higher gear for lower rpms if you to save more fuel than the auto alone would. But for just driving around the paddle shifters are not that great/useful. Just a fun thing really. Really depends on the car too. Completely pointless in the outback. Somewhat useful in the vette depending on the situation. Was just for fun in the GTI.

It would have been easier, but I did it a little more complicated way. There is a connector you can pull the pins out of and just swap them so it switches the up/down shift around. However the part inside the connector that holds the pins in place is plastic. Known to break. Didn't want to risk it on a 17 year old car. So I just cut the two wires and soldered them to the opposite wire. If I sell it down the line I might have to cut the wires completely out and just put new ones if the new owner doesn't want it that way.

As for the exhaust, I put it up on the quickjack on lunch today, undid 3 clamps and whatever the spring is called that helps hold the exhaust in place in front of the transmission. Did about 1/4" turn, even if that much, and it clears everything again. We will see if it stays that way. The mod I did to the clamp for the transmission lines by the headers is also holding and keeping the lines off the headers. Still want to add an external transmission cooler eventually. Probably do that and add an aftermarket harmonic balancer when I get the A&A installed in the next 1-2 years.

Not a true solder. Did those solder seal wire connectors.

Normally I crimp, but after I cut them I realized I didn't have the right size crimp connectors and I needed to drive the vette yesterday with the subaru down. If the connection fails I will put in all new wiring with crimps later on.

those are ok as they allow flex. otherwise solder+automotive=no bueno.

ya if it was a in a place that had the potential to move around a lot I def would not have used them. They are really secure and not moving at all in their steering wheel. Tight space so they can't shift around with g-forces.

Pissed off the O2 sensors again today. P0056, p0036, p0161

Basically the rear o2 sensors are not heating properly. Known issue with high flow cats.

Now that Danielle as heard my car from the outside as a driver in a different car (she was following me in her Subaru) she said my car is too loud. Obnoxiously loud. Sounds good. But is so loud. Sounds like a race car. If I stay out of the throttle it is not bad at all. But where is the fun in that?
