I've got a list of maintenance I'm behind on. I'm really struggling to keep any interest in this thing.

Time to sell.

There's one more event we might try to go to in early Sept. Then there will be a discussion about its long term prospects. I may do the minimum to keep it going until I pay off the GS.

Best used selling prices are slowly starting to fade. Don’t wait too long.

I suspect high gas prices and the lack of desirability of the H3 in general would offset any strong used car prices.

I dont know. I see quite a few H3's over here that get some love by their owners. Yours is special after all.

Really? I can't even remember last time I saw one over on this side of the country..

Oh yea, we have pavement pounding Hummer fanboys out this way.

Last Hummer I saw anywhere around here was a military spec one.. sitting on cinder blocks in West Virginia.. across the road from a burned out house.

A couple here. Mainly bro trucks everywhere though.

I think why they last so long is because they never take them offroad. Just cruising the streets with their All Terrains, or Mud tires growling down the road.

I finally got around to a long overdue bit of maintenance/upgrade that I should have done when I rebuilt most of the front end. I replaced the front bump stops with extended ones. The front nose dive is way better now. It's a little more stable on turns too. It was a pain in the ass, but well worth it.

Are they just like the rear bumper stops? I thought those were suppose to be easy to replace. I would think hitting a front one would cause a reverse reaction…aka a bounce, and make steering very interesting. No?

If it's a coil over shock arrangement it's a pain because you have to disassemble everything to do it.

It's not technically a bump stop. The proper name is jounce bumper. The lower control arm is supposed to be in constant contact with it. It takes up the initial bit of slack in the suspension and makes the compression more gradual.

Since the torsion bars are cranked up, there was a gap between the factory jounce bumper and the control arm. So between that and all the extra weight on the nose, there was a dead spot in the suspension under braking or turning.

It was hard to get them to slide into the pocket evenly. They kept going crooked.

oh yeah forgot it was torsen bar. that still sounds like a pain.

It's the black rubber thing. There was about a 3/4" gap with the stock one.

The string is my half assed attempt at not losing it if it popped out of the cup

Yea that looks like a bump stop or snubber. Should be the last ditch resort for your suspension.


BTW an H3 hit my local yard. Let me know if you need anything.
