Looking at the timing chains on that engine (reminds me of the Audi) and knowing GMs history of timing chain issues.... I'll pass.

Looks like it comes in very close in weight to the aluminum block LS.

considering they've used the lfx in just about every v6 application for the last 5+ years i'm sure we would have heard something bad about them by now.

CTS 1 3.6 is well documented with timing chain issues. Not sure if it's related.

I was mostly referring to the ecotec though. LS also has a rep for breaking chains though but at least it's easy to work on and had an upgrade option

Changed the master cylinder Saturday morning and then did an oil change on it. I tested it out in the garage Saturday morning but didn't have time to test drive as my dad was there to help me hang my TV on the wall and put the rear surround sound speakers in the ceiling. I figured nothing like a test drive on my short commute to work. The issue appears to be resolved. I also now have about 150 miles of city driving on the clutch so I'm basically calling it broken in. I'm now back to beating on the Miata like a red headed step child :p eelout:

I installed my Marrad LX1 seat today with the stock 3 point seat belt. I think I'm going to go back and move the shoulder belt back to the outside of the slot as it rubs my neck.

Ran it in autox today started out with a 67.5. My fastest time was on the last run 62.5. I ran in SM because I didn't want to go in the afternoon with the huge groups. I was 4-5 seconds slower than the fastest SM cars.

When you have a super rare JDM GTO Titanium shift knob lying around that happens to have the same thread size and pitch as your Miata you get a little crazy...
