13 added HP from a tune. I say its worth it. I had a hunch they were the same. Funny how the Mivecs are so different too. Nearly 20 HP difference. I was a bit surprised seeing guys on the eclipse forums getting 300+ HP out of that motor in NA form. Cant wait to install her and dial her in.

Decided to install the Ram 50 Grill I picked up not long ago. Made a few little cosmetic changes to it too.

Not certain which one I like the most yet. The Ram one does flow with the boxyness of the truck. Thoughts?

It's tough to call. I like them both. The bumper and the Ram grille could use a shot of semi-gloss paint. Looks like the Mitsu grille is a lot shinier.

Turns out the last owner shot the grill with satin black.

What'd you do for a trailer hitch? I keep seeing them at the junkyard, but I'm honestly clueless when it comes to what will interchange and what won't.

I need to get a receiver and a different rear bumper so I can clean up the back of this thing and make it more usable. My current bumper is has arms that are punched through the rear lower sheet metal (very poorly) and welded straight to the frame. The ball is welded to the bumper.

It's sagging, it's rusty, and I wouldn't trust that hitch to pull anything more substantial than a child's wagon.

I pulled mine off another max on the junk yard. I think it's a class 2 receiver so it's limited on towing. It's made by a legit manufacturer. They did however use the existing hockey stick looking arms that bolt down onto the bumper. Only thing is they shortened them a bit. I can take a pic if you like.

Personally prefer having the hitch over the stock bumper. Looks cleaner and the factory bumpers aren't any thicker than the quarter panel.

I cut a clean factory panel off a donor truck. I wouldn't even call it a bumper. The front bumper is flimsy shit too.

I'll upgrade it all eventually. I'm just wondering what to keep my eyes out for at the yards. I guess I'll just look for something that's close and modify it as needed.

Agreed. The truck was made to be light and light duty. Power train looks to be a much different case though. Measure the outside with of the frame rails. Then find a receiver that is at least that wide. From there you can cut and reweld.

I would go back to the other grill. I mean, how many times do you need your truck to sat 4wd? But how many places does it say v6?

The old Galant VR4's have like 20 grille options that fit. It's insane.

I think I need to revisit this whole locking diff thing. Since I'm still a 4x4 noob, I just assumed a locker was like a super LSD. Limited slip all the time, and locked for those times of extreme need.

But last night I read something that says it's an open diff when it's turned off. So now, not only would it be a pain to find and install one, but it'll actually be counterproductive on a truck that'll spend virtually all of its time on the street.

If this is true, I'm really thinking that hybrid viscous/Torsen LSD is what I should be aiming for.

Thoughts?

You want the locker. You will know when you need it and when you do, you will be happy you have it.

Yes it would be an open diff when off. Then when actuated it would lock your entire spool together making the rear tires turn at the same speed which would be dangerous and hard on your drivetrain if used only on pavement. The gains would be seen off road as they perform better than lsd. Would also come in handy if you used it for drag racing.

LSD sounds like the best choice for your application. I'm still trying to decide which way to go.

I'm strongly leaning towards 4.63 gears and the hybrid LSD out of a 3.0 sport. I've found a couple RWD models with the hybrid diff. If I can just find a 4x4 with one, it'll be one stop shopping. Axles, brakes, the whole deal.

I really don't need the front diff, but it'd be nice to just swap everything in rather than fucking around with pulling my current ring gear and swapping it over to the sport axle. Changing the front diff assembly would be a lot easier.
