Nice! What’s that weigh? Also uou went with the 5.0 right? Why not the ecoboost? Chevys have transmission issues. Whats fords weakness?

Dry weight is 5200ish. Yes went with the 5.0 while it lacks the down low torque of the Ecoboost it has much fewer problems. Ecoboost can have timing chain and cam phaser issues. That being said depending on how things go I might start shopping for one. This generation F150 is very reliable, the 6R80 transmission is stout, 5.0 is reliable with only a handful of the early 5.0s having cylinder liner issues. One of the biggest reoccurring issues has to do with the 4x4 hub actuation setup.

Re: Truck Yeah!
Newer f150s transmission is not as good.

The 10 speed auto is the same one as the GM one. As far as I know it's pretty reliable but people complain it hunts gears a bit. To me a 10spd auto should hunt gears some.
Mirror visibility isn't as bad as I was expecting. Still, I'll have to decide if I want extensions or pony up for the power folding ones. https://boostautoparts.com/products/200 ... 7627838623

Re: Truck Yeah!
I drove one that failed a few times while going up a hill after slow driving. Like no hunting but straight up engine revving like not in gear.
Re: Truck Yeah!
She still looks great. Still glad you chose that generation and the 5.0.
Ram mirrors would make a great addition.

Yes and no to both. 125h gen F150 is heavier, so theoretically a more stable platform for towing. The down side is their payload capacity tends to be much lower making it easier to be over payload. When hooked up to the trailer I certainly would like the down low grunt the Ecoboost has.
As for mirrors I'll probably end up with some clip ons and then probably a rear monitor. Having a hard time justifying $1000+ for mirrors.

Re: Truck Yeah!
Say what you want but for all the previous generations and most current, Yours has more going for it. You did very well.

Yeah like many things it's about give and take. The 12th gen is a good middle ground.

Probably smarter to do this then to buy a new truck, especially if you like your current truck

Cheaper sure better or smarter? That's debatable especially when talking about towing.

I'll install for less.
Keep the boost down and you'll be fine.
