Most normal transmission shops wouldn't do that kind of work. You'd be looking for a specialty shop willing to do fabrication for a swap like that.

It's not even the fabrication. It's the electrical. Current ecm won't talk to the 6l. Ecm that will talk to the 6l won't play nice with the truck electronics.

Then I would do a 5 speed. I was just throwing out a transmission because that’s what’s in my wife’s Tahoe. The topic was transmission or gears….not a specific of either. Maybe I want 4:56 gears?! Or 3:42’s. Or whatever number is. 80082 (that’s suppose to be Boobs).

Chill people. Lol

E67 will do CANbus and Class 2. My H3 is set up that way, along with quite a few other GM cars from the 08-10 timeframe. It is far from plug and play into older vehicles though.

I'd have done a 6L80 swap into the H3 a long time ago if it wasn't for the damn output shaft problem. It is almost plug and play in my truck.

Just as bad. Where are you going to mount the clutch pedal? How about all the linkage and hydraulics? Then there is still electrical. How will your truck read mph? Does you ecu require signal back from the transmission?

Clutch? Dude. Why would I ever go with a manual?

Did they really go from 4 speed to 6? Never had a 5 auto? Seems odd.

5 speed auto was only used in cars. Truck capable stuff went straight from 4 to 6. At least in the GM world.
