Yes. I'd take a Telluride over an used Tahoe ANY day.

Depends on the reason.

I'd generally agree unless I needed to tow more than 5000lbs, but I have the truck for that now.

Re: Vehicle list
If towing wasn't needed I'd recommend a telluride as well
Re: Vehicle list
It would be nice to have something that I could eventually get rid of the avalanche. Long term. But then again, trying to plan for the future is hard.

Yeah the Kia/Hyundai twins are really nice. Theyd be on the list for sure.

Ford Explorer ST really has me curious, I also don’t like the idea of these high HP 4 cyl’s for longevity. I guess the ST shares the same problem of turbocharging a vehicle. It’s no longer the 80’s when people worried the turbo would go out every 20k, it’s the head gaskets on these vehicles.

I see the planning for a potential future, but something like the Telluride rides so much better than a Tahoe does (not to mention gas mileage etc) that sacrificing that for something that MAY happen 5-8 years from now just wouldn't happen for me.

I dont think the head gaskets are the biggest problem with the EcoBoost engines. Ive seen some sporadic posting about it, but its far from a common issue, or anything to be remotely worried about. Yeah the RS had head gasket issues, but that was because Ford built the engines with the wrong head gasket. They owned it, had a recall, and fixed the issue.

Re: Vehicle list
Yeah most of the issues with ford's EcoBoost engine are not necessarily related to the Turbo. Some of the very early 3.5s had some turbo failures but that's been mostly resolved. I think the biggest problems with the new direct injection turbo engines, across all brands, are carbon build up and some oil consumption issues.

1.6/1.5 cyl leakage is a huge issue with ecoboost engines. Happens in 2.0 as well, just not as common. Its 3 times a day someone with 1.5/1.6 escape post up about their engine. Granted they sold a bunch of these but its a lot.

Who gives a shit about 1.5L EcoBoosts?? You are looking at Explorers, they come with a 2.3 or 3.5L EcoBoost, neither of which has much of any problems except maybe the carbon build up Chris talked about.
Just because one engine a company makes has issues, doesn’t mean they all will. Look at the RS head gasket issue. It only affected the RS 2.3, not the Mustang, or any SUV with it.
And I think the 2020+ Explorer ST 3.5 has the direct and port injection like the F150, so the build up is not even an issue.

Re: Vehicle list
it just looks so bland inside and out. I feel like most trucks these days have a nicer interior than that. I do like the leather color though.

Re: Vehicle list
IMO the interior looks 10 years older than it is. Nothing bad about it really, just looks outdated to me. But that is a general issue I have with a lot of truck interiors.
What was the price? Just listed as N/A now. And that gas mileage is pretty horrid hah.
