Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer

What's a mall crawler?
Why?
It's large and clunky and trying to look old without really being old. I think 1950s panel vans are cool, but this thing is NOT. There are sooooo many better choices, and you chose THAT.

Other cars that make me 'dislike' the person. Plain Jane beige Toyota/Honda/Nissan 4 door non-descript 'cars'.

Yeah, they are reliable, and boring as F*&K. I seriously can't name most of these models because the bore the daylights out of me and ignore their existence overall.

These cars are the 'mini-vans' of cars.

I think he means these.

It's like the brodozer of the import world. It's got "off road" parts, but it's never so much as seen gravel.

It's a "rock crawler" who's biggest achievement is parking on top of a curb.

Kind of a brodozer. Usually off-road vehicles, such as a wrangler, that is highly modified to go off-road but never actually does. The only "rock crawling" they do is maybe a curb at the mall.

I'm kinda with V here. I'm not a huge fan of them. I certainly respect what they are capable of at the drag strip, but the car is a massive pile of shit with a great engine... Kinda a Cummins powered Dodge truck :o hnoes:

I totally agree. I wanted one for the longest time. It looked mean as hell and was fast. But it was the absolute worst of GMs fisher price interiors. Having a big ass V8 in a RWD car and somehow still tucking half the engine under the cowl was weird too.

So it was a car that was aimed squarely at someone who was mentally 10 years old. It worked perfectly for that demographic. I see the new Challenger as hitting the same market. Big and menacing and fast but otherwise total crap :p

I outgrew that, but only just barely :p

I almost ended up with a '94 Z28 brand new off the lot back then. Fortunately, my credit rating was crap at the time and wiser heads prevailed.

A guy I worked with in the early '00s had one that he had "wrenched on" and thought it was really fast. One run against the Spyder cured him of that hallucination. ;-)

Sorry, but those silly looking mudflaps are actually functional. I'll be getting some for my brz, forester, and the sti. Fite me. The rally armor ones are overpriced at almost $200 for a set though.

So are suspension lifts, off road tires, and big aero aids. But most people don't actually put them to use.

If you're going to be driving around at speed on gravel roads, I'll agree with you. But if you're spending 99% of your time on pavement, it looks ridiculous.

Even on pavement they still do a good job at deflecting road shit from getting on your car.

Also rubber from tires if tracking the car.

I dunno even of you just do snow they still help keep than sand and crap from nicking up the car. Subaru paint is notoriously weak, my old Legacy only ever saw pavement and rain, but the bottom area of the door still had some nasty marks on it at 70k when I sold it.

Mud flaps are one thing.

These big, brightly colored WRC style panels are something else altogether.

The only reason you need a piece that big is if you're bombing around gravel roads at high speed, or you wanna say "Lookit mee, Ima rally car!"
