Acura RL- need to drive to see if its all steve says it is

Chevy Equinox - Thought about these two when the wife was looking, I liked them.
Chevy Trailblazer

Ford Escape- not counting this out that 1.6l ecoboost has great gas mileage at a good price

GMC Envoy- same as the equinox
Honda CRV- i like the 2nd gen's but my mom drives the next style...cant do that.

Subaru Outback- all the subaru's are on the table minus the forester. I really like the turbo one posted but didn't like the gas mileage.
Subaru Legacy
Subaru Impreza
Toyota Rav4- Always liked these, but never driven one.

I'd stay away from the GM products if you want reliability. The Trailblazers are notorious for the transmissions just randomly crapping out with no warning.

You can say that about any car/brand out there...

My wife and I have had a 2013 Equinox for almost 5 years now, and have had ZERO issues with it.

Go for the 2.0 turbo engine. It's basically the Focus ST engine!

Exactly. Of all the vehicles I have owned over the years, GM has been the most kind to me and my wallet. Not only most reliable, but when they do go, parts are cheap and easy to find.

My Chevy blazer left me stranded twice before 80k. Unless it’s. Vette I doubt I will own another.

I was reading people saying he climate control is odd on the 1.6 and thinking. Yeah that 1.6 can barely turn a compressor. So I have been looking for the 2.0.

My 96 1500 only left me stranded 2x in the 4 years and 75k miles I drove it (bought it with 60k). Once the idler pulley failed because I overtightend a new belt I put on and once the fuel pump relay failed. The relay was because dirt and water had gotten into the fuse area under the hood and cause it to short out.

My 99 never failed me.

My 87 Chevy Nova never failed me.

My Volt has never failed me.

Can't say that about any other manufacturer I have owned (except the Kia, but it only has like 5000 miles on it so far). :d ontknow:

Mine was alternator and fuel pump. The fuel pump was twice but the second time it wouldn’t give me a lot of speed but I was close to home and made it.

I think pretty much anything new now days is made to go 120k without much of an issue. Unless it’s an Audi. ;)

Exactly. So get what you want. You are looking at used cars. Get something that has been properly taken care of, do the right maintenance, and it shouldn't matter what you get. It should last. So get something you are comfortable with.

My GMs have been 100% reliable. The Equi never gave me problems and the CTS has seen a TON of miles added over the years I've owned it. I drive it pretty hard as well.

I think there's 6 Equinoxes in my family, no issues with any of them that I'm aware of - and trust me, I would've heard about it.

Oh the baja! Only a mother can love something that ugly!

Forgot I had a cousin that works at a ford dealership. I messaged him and asked him to look in the database for a family deal.

He said “money isn’t a problem, when he tells his boss about me coming to MI from TN to buy then I can get the same deal he can.”

He also said to stay away from the 13’s as they had some odd bugs. We will see what he gets back to me with tomorrow.
