Yes...but to be fair so is Faster ≠ more fun. Fun for me is winning, being faster than the next guy with a rock solid car that does what I tell it to, when I tell it to do it. Fun for someone else might be rowing their own gears but coming in dead fucking last.
Fun is subjective, slow is universal.
If winning is all that matters you'd better sell the Vette and buy a top fuel dragster and compete with the best of the best. How do I know that faster isn't more fun? Simple, my 3000GT made more HP than any of the cars I've had since and I'm confident it would walk away from my Legacy, but yet I find I was the least fun if any of them to drive. Yes it's wholesale subjective.
I honestly don't care if you think the world should be sunshine and rainbows, this is how the car world is. I'm not sure where I've talked down about "every other car on here"....but people feel how they want to feel and I can't change that.
Slow isn't subjective, it's an absolute. I've never had a fast car, so you don't see me going around talking shit about GTRs because they have a DCT vs. a stick.
Any time most people post anything about modding their car your response is pretty much canned, "a Vette can make so much more hp than that" or something about that. You blew up coops thread with that and several others. It gets old fast.
Ummm...it's this way everywhere. You just don't roll in the same circles and that's fine. Trust me, it's worse on the track. Guys compare lap times like drag guys compare 60ft times.
Careful now Frode... You wouldn't want to have someone shake their finger at you for not liking what they like.
I'm glad my
car friends are not like that at all... In fact none of the road course or the autox events are like that. They've all been "How's your event going? What can I do to help you learn to go faster?" no one has ever talked shit to me because I'm slow or my Miata is slow.
Can't you just appreciate each car for the virtues it offers? If 'fast' is the only virtue you care about, fine...it's your money. I like to think I can appreciate nearly any car for what it offers so long as it's tastefully built and the owner isn't a twat.
I like wagons. So does Billy

Exactly. I'm not asking you to accept the absurdity of stance but there are many different reasons for picking a car and I don't own any of my cars as a dick measuring contest.
I have my cars because they fit my needs better than anything else out there now. And one of those things is affordability. I hold title on all 3 of my cars, if I wad up any of them on a road course, where insurance won't cover a loss, I I can walk away without any problems. Walking away from the Legacy without any money from it would suck hard, but I could do it.
You talked about me being so dismissive about faster not being more fun, yet you consistently do it to anyone who doesn't subscribe to your point of view.
