It really does. I've been wanting to do this combo for a while, but it was hard to find someone who would do a good wrinkle red. Greg can do it.

Already have, well most of them, they are now stainless alan head bolts.

Trans and engine are out... Next steps are to separate the trans and start tearing down the engine to prep for the stroker swap-in. Need to degrease and fully clean the engine bay, do a little touch up, etc.

Catalogged some bolts that could stand to be replaced that are a little chewed up from swapping clutches and usual stuff like that.

You know. I never understood this. I deleted mine as it was a big thing, but it's not in the way, it doesnt hurt anything, but helps a lot. I don't know why so many deleted it.

Mine just keeps working as designed, and I'm not taking my throttle body off a lot, so I just left it.

Coop, I was referring to it not being the upgraded black one. Those brown ones like to sneak up and fail. Causing all sorts issues.

For cleaning the engine bay, I'm planning on just using Simple Green on rags to go over all of it, then put a coat of wax on all the paint. Any other suggestions for that process?

What about the firewall insulation? As you can see in the photo, the area behind the rear turbo has been "baked" pretty well by having the TD05 housing there with no heat shielding on it. I remember there was a guy selling pre-cut aluminized sheeting or something, but I also remember hearing he wasn't making it any more. Good alternatives? I don't know how crazy I want to go with taking everything off the firewall, but it'd probably be a good idea to do something to fix at least that area by the turbo.

Greg, I'm pretty sure I want to do some coating. At least the valve covers in the wrinkle red. I need to take a look at what else I would want coated. Maybe re-do some of the brackets and stuff in black. I think other than the valve covers I want to keep it with a "simple clean" look wherever possible. That's probably a combination of red valve covers, black brackets, and re-polishing the stainless and aluminum parts. How soon would you be ready to receive parts to be coated? Can you do brake calipers? I'll put together a list of parts and send it to you for a quote on all of it.

I can start as soon as this weekend if you get it here in time. We can talk details privately.

I shy away from brake calipers unless all you needed done was the caliper itself (you disassemble them and just send the housings).

I saw some build thread that Ray P was working on at 3si. Ray might of started the thread. Anyway I think they made a new one out of some kind of insulation. From what I remember it looked OK.

Yeah, the calipers I was just planning on using a high temp caliper paint (G2). I'll stick with that for those.

I used thermo-tec on the Exocet. It's thin and easy to work with. Also isn't that expensive.

Let you know how it does after I get the car going...
