AAA should do the trick. If not there are usually guys there that can help out or step up.

Re: Finally Jeeping again!
Wasn't sure where to post this other than this old Jeep thread of mine. I really haven't been driving it much in the last couple years. My wife now has her 3 row SUV, so this has just been parked.
Well a couple weeks back I was visiting our local Summit Racing shop and stopped by the Clearance rack. I then ran across this...

Summit offers a nice discount on parts here. Usually about 55-60% off on returned items. They usually only put stuff out on the floor if everything is there and operational. Well this exhaust was wrapped in the remnance of its original box with a $120 price tag. I looked the whole thing over and all the parts were there. When to check out and my total came to $60. That weekend they were taking an additional 50% off, so I got lucky.
This was timely because my stock exhaust had rust holes in the exhaust and was barely holding on. This stainless unit would be much better.
Wife got this shot while my son and I were scoping out the removal process.

My son telling me how its to be done. Pretty sharp kid.

The process of removal wasnt too bad. Most all the clamp I was able to just snap off. Where the catback meets the cat was a pain because there was a pinched joint and it didnt want to come off until it was cut off.
Assembly was super easy. What was a bit odd though is the system is a pre-cut bolt on setup, but you still had to cut at least one section per the instructions, but I had to cut 2 in order to make the whole thing fit like stock.
Anyways I got it all together with the larger diameter pipe and here is what she looks like compared to the old.

Starting it up she has a slight turbo muffler tone. More of a medium to slightly higher pitch. Almost sounds a little like a race car when you rev it up. All in all much happier with it and got to spend some time with the boy doing it.

Thanks an awesome deal. I'm running dynomax cat back myself and have been happy with it. How is the exhaust manifold doing? Mine had cracks in the normal spots so replaced it last year.

Thanks, really didnt have much of a choice on what I got. I just wanted a straight through exhaust and this did it while bumping me up to a bigger size pipe. Looking back I really like it now.
My exhaust manifold is cracked. Oddly enough I found a banks header in the junk yard about 5 years ago, but havent done anything with it. It too looks nice and its got the longer runners, but the collector is cracked as well. Ill need to weld it up first before putting it back on. Also, being that the exhaust and intake manifolds share bolts I was waiting on picking up a 99-01 intake, but after all my reading Im having a hard time figuring out if I will gain any additional HP with the newer intake.

What is the difference on the 99-01 intake?

Take a look. The left should be the 80's 4.0L Jeeps, middle is the 90's up to 98/99. Right is the 99-01.

You can see the runners are much different over the generations. Especially on the right. Ive got to dive into it again, but supposedly the newest version nets more HP, but im pretty sure its not a bolt on affair. Need bigger injectors and some other items IIRC.

Didn't know that. Interesting. Both my XJs were 98.
Re: Finally Jeeping again!

Re: Finally Jeeping again!
Just kind of a standing joke among cyclists.. You need to bring a strong sock game to have a good ride! Also a point of contention between triathletes (who tend to ride sockless) and cyclists (who tend to have a bit taller socks with lots of patterns etc).
