Sure Alan, but these threads existed solely in the political discussion one; I guess that's where they belong.
It is good you ask.

What do you see the differences as?
3si - archive
3sgtfo - 'better' moderation

What else?
The real difference is the goal of the site.

3si's goal is to make money for AF and let David and Nathan play god.

3SGTO's goal is to support the community.
Some of the sponsors are allowed to pay part of their sponsorship with gift certificates.
3sgto is sending 150 in gift certs to the ECG, BRG and UMG
3sgto is the NG11 Autocross sponsor.
Other that one small goggle text ad, 3sgto advertising is from 3s platform related businesses.

The money that comes in pays the bills and goes back to the community.

Emphasize that. As much as you can.

If that is where that stuff is then I feel better. I did not remember seeing anything that bad outside that forum.

Can I make a suggestion on a way to make the site an awesome resource? Add some ability to rate (and see the rating) of each individual post in the support forums. I'd say giving the thread starter the ability to mark a post as "the solution" (similar to how E.E. or IT boards to) but that may be overly complicated. For people that are worried about troubleshooting and learning about cars, that would be a great feature.

That is a pretty good idea.

Ban steve for starters. He's waaaay past a good laugh.

Honestly, as far as a site looks I prefer 3si. I dont know if it's what I've been use to for 6 years, but I find 3sgto - complex???

Because a group of people who do not give one shit about you, your 'community' or your passion are profiting off of your generosity.

How many fucking times do I have to explain this?

Jeff - for someone who is soooooo anti-3si you sure seem to be there alot bitching to and about the mod team/owners. You can put that down to hate, vengeance, boredom, or maybe you still care somewhat. :d ontknow:

Scotty, I would like to hear your thoughts and suggestions on the site. You are not the 1st person to make a comment about "complexity".

PM me if you prefer to not post the comments publicly.

http://www.experts-exchange.com - you can vote on whether a post was helpful, and the thread creator can mark a post as the "Accepted Solution."

Social.technet.microsoft.com - you can vote for which posts were helpful and select a post as an answer.

Answers.yahoo.com - you can see how many people rate a post as "Good."

None of those use VBB, but you get the idea. If something like that could be implemented into VBB, it would be damn cool.

He has a lot invested in this platform and the people. If others can't understand how it's hard for him to see what 3si has turned into...then they don't understand how passionate Jeff is and how when he puts his heart and soul into something he hopes for same in return...3si let him down.

I think he pretty much has accepted that...expect when he see's someone defend it, as Coop does.

I am growing more and more weary of that dipshit. He was trying to school Ray P earlier (and being a smart ass in the process). I pretty much never gave neg rep on 3si but I’d sure as hell hit him up about 10 times by now if we had it.

True, my entire 3S experience has been piggy backed off of Jeff.

When I first joined he was building the original ESX.

I now have a awesome FWD TT in my garage. (that I am sadly getting ready to sell)

And currently he is working on the flash ROM codes.

I have a awesome '99 that has a flashed ECU. :)

I have read so many technical threads that Jeff has written it is insane! I think it is only beat by Stealth316.com

To Jeff!

The whole problem with that is I try to defend the people as its not their fault. Jeff cant stand the man behind the people. I hope he doesnt think for one second that I dont thikn he has passion because I can see that he does. I can see that he does help people and honestly one of few that really makes a true difference in the 3/s world. He isnt just answer some questions, hes solving the problems (aka the ecu stuff).

It's not hard to find my way around, but as far as viewing the site, it just seems complex. I dont know if that makes sense. I dont even really know how to search properly as I've tried and failed. I dont even bother anymore. lol Possibly due to laziness, but it's not as simple as 3si. It reminds of of Mitsubishi-forums but not as bad.

Now V I'de believe that if Jeff posted some positive stuff there, altho I dont go there everyday so maybe I've missed stuff? I know he was posting info about the flash tuned ecu for the 98 and 99's, he got into it with Alan about the calendar a year or two back and now the NG debate. I just find he's only ever there to fight the mods. If he were there more for good and bad stuff, I think he would have more merit, but maybe he couldn't care less about what I believe. ;)
