Re: HELP!
Well I took the video. I will post it when I get home. It hesitated really bad at one point, but did pretty good the rest of the way. I am going to autozone tonight to get the free check ups they offer, pick up a compression gauge and rent one of their fuel pressure gauges if they have one.
How do you use the fuel pressure gauge? I know how to use the compression one.

anyone else have a comment on the video?
Like I said I will post the new video of my driving it tonight. I am going to autozone to pick up some stuff after work and get that free test.

Re: HELP!
Duck, it's hard to help someone when they don't take your advice.
2 people now have mentioned it's your exhaust and yet you are testing fuel pressure. I know you're just "eliminating possibilities" but think logically for a second:
You have holes in your exhaust. They are known to cause the issues you described. What might the problem be?

Re: HELP!
I just want to make sure it is not something else. That is going to be a few hundred to fix the exhaust. I don't want to spend that money and that not fix the problem. Sorry if I am coming across as rude or anything. It is just that I don't have money to just throw at it till it is fixed right now.
I'm sorry mono.

Re: HELP!
Well here is the video that I took while driving. Play close attention after the 3 minute mark especially and then again after the 9 minute mark. Driving to work it only did its thing at the one 3 minute part, but on the way home, it did it the whole way. I stopped at autozone and they said they don't test the things listed online and they dont rent out the tools i need. I will test my TPS tonight. I can no longer drive the jeep in its condition.
Please watch the video and let me know if you think this is an exhaust problem for sure.

Sorry I have been so pushy with this, I just want to make sure I figure out the problem.
For all those that have helped, I would like to thank you. I really appreciate all your help.

Re: HELP!
Why don't you just metal duct tape the exhaust and see if it works, that'll hopefully tell you for 5 bucks whether the next 200 are worth spending, at least.

On the Internet they say, "You never get this! You never get this!" But then one day they all met in Cali and they get this.

Re: HELP!
I read your post bleed. I might try that but I have a few other things according to jeepforum that could be wrong.
Tonight I am going to test the TPS, clean that IAC, check the O2 sensor on the downpipe and fill up the tank with new gas. If none of that fixes it, I will take off the Cat and see if it is bad.
Thanks again...and I guess I have to say this....thanks for your input bleed.
you have sound?
ah, no not today. Took my headphones home last night to fix the jack and left them there...
well, from a purely visual perspective, i see 50 MPH at 2-3k rpm...which is okay to me!
Is the only real problem the sound, or is it acting really differently? From the way you described it, i was expecting to see you hit the gas and the car would stall, like sparks were just...not happening (Can happen, happened to one of my cars before.)

Re: HELP!
at the 3 min mark you can see the rpm really drop then as i am hitting the gas and the rpms shoot up, i am not accerlerating fast at all until i floor it and shoot the rpms way up. Then at the 9 mark i am not hitting the gas during the first turn or at any time after the 2nd turn. If you heard the sound you would be able to tell alot better.

I know exhausts are expensive which is why I recommended you get a patch kit.
Cheep check & temp fix till you get the $$ to replace the pipes.

Re: HELP!
im suprised that on Jeepforum people are actually helping. about 85% have said it sounds like a cracked manifold and bad cat. the other 15% are saying it might be fuel.

Re: HELP!
OK, TPS is fine, IAC is cleaned and I can't get the cat off without cutting it. I also put gas in it and i did not check the O2. The more I thought about it, I am going to have to replace the exhaust anyway.
When I had my wife rev the engine and I felt the exhaust coming out of the tail pipe. When she first reved it, I could feel the air coming out a bit harder than at idle, but it was a steady flow. It pretty much came out at the same speed as idle since idle is pulsing really bad. I am guessing something is clogged. I will more than likely now replace the manifold back.
When we were almost done a check engine light finally came on. Since I do not have an OBDII scanner, I did the ol' home remedy version of holding in the odometer reset button and turning the ignition from on to off 3 times. I came up with code 2.3 (23 I am guessing) which according to Hanes is Intake Air Temperature Sensor.
Would a faulty IATS cause my problems?

Re: HELP!
According to Hanes it senses the temperature of the air entering the intake manifold. The PCM uses this info to control the fuel mixture.
