It's not a C7 that overheats after one hotlap *hides*

That said I might pick up some heat wraps and wrap around the trans lines. Really close to the headers. Like stupid close. Was hitting them at first but was able to move them a bit to get them off it, but not by much.

I was only suggesting it because that's the first thing everyone recommends doing on GMs truck radiators with integrated trans coolers. Separating them increases reliability and prevents one system from negatively influencing the other.

My car has all that from the factory. Grand Sport + Z07. If I'm driving it like an old man, it sits right around 174*. My Stingray would sit around 205*, even after the radiator upgrade. People either buy or build a track package, then they don't drive it hard enough to use it, and instead they claim it "struggles to warm up". It the tune is right, it'll be just fine below 200 when you're idling around town. I have no doubt you'll be able to get yours good and toasty when the need arises.

You definitely don't want to mix the fluids, so separating them out makes sense to me.

Hmm. Looking at extra trans coolers. Apparently it is hard to find a good location for one when you go s/c since you know, the intercooler and all. Going to do some digging and see what I can find.

Looks like it's common to remove the fog lights and put it there.

Do people run remote ones in the rear with a fan? Instead of running lines to and from the front?

Some do. Looking at that as well. But looks like up front is WAY better.

Might just wrap exhaust for now and keep an eye on temps, then look at installing something later.

We had a fire truck that had a trans cooler in the radiator. Radiator fluid was found in the trans and it ruined it. It was stupid expensive to replace.

I wonder if you could use the 2014 C7 6 speed cooler? You'd have to find some way to get airflow through it, but it might be a good place to start.

2015-2019 were 8 speed.

I mean, you could just.. oh I don't know.. not supercharge it

Only way I'd break 50 is if after the blower the transmission goes boom and I have one custom made for it.

Probably sitting at low 30s right now if I add it all up.

Got the radiator in and like 95% of the connections back together. Went to do the last connection and the tee on the surge tank inlet hose basically disintegrated. Now I am going to do to the store and see if I can find a replacement. Apparently it is a 3/8 x 3/8 x 1/4 and not a common size easily found at auto parts stores from my checking their websites. Go figure.

Also lost more ATF than I wanted (had a plug in the line, but it failed) so lost probably about a cup or so worth on the floor from the lines, plus whatever is still in the old radiator. Unfortunately the C6 is a PAIN IN THE ASS to add fluid to and check. All done under the car and need to pump it in and everything. Checking level sucks too. Has to be at a certain temp and drip out of a plug at a certain rate in order for it to be considered full.
