But you said more in truck than jeep. Far from it. Just because they are not common issues didn't mean they didn't happen. It's been a horrible vehicle in terms of reliability. I'd have gotten rid of it years ago. That's a lot to repair or replace in 35k miles.

That has been over the course of 13 years of sitting. Elements, rodents, and fatigue will destroy a vehicle like it did your exhaust in a 7 year timetable too.

I know I'm stupid but getting some work done soon.
If the auburn works I'll use that, but if not, having a truetrac put in, as well as most of everything else rebuilt in the rear.
Also having a corvette servo, transgo hd2 kit, pinless accumulater pistons, and a hardened separator plate installed on the transmission. Should hopefully help prolong the life.
Also doing a CAI and custom mild street tune.
Would like to also do the long tubes but that would be another almost $2k. Not spending that much yet.

As bad as I don't want to spend the money I kind of want the transmission to be shot so I can put in a better one, like a 4l80e.

This is where I am with the trans. If mine goes I will put in the extra gear one.

Now we will see how the transfer case looks, build up the transmission a bit, and see if that auburn lsd I got from Dirty will work.

This is what is going in the transmission as long as it's in good shape.
Transgo 4L60E-HD2 shift kit
Transgo hardened separator plate
Sonnax pinless 1-2 accumulator piston
Sonnax pinless forward accumulator piston
Filter kit with pan gasket
Corvette 2nd gear servo

Well after I get it back I'm putting in the cai and then going to do some data logging for a custom tune.
Then...?
Might save up for a car and put the long tubes, cam, etc in that.
We will see.

Why stop at a 427, he obviously needs a 502.

Cause the 427 is still based on the LS block, so it would drop in a lot easier than a 502 big block.

Gears looked undamaged so going to see if that lsd will work. If not I'll get the truetrac

You sure? How long did you run it on the broken spider gears? There has got to be fragments that went through the ring and pinion. Probably have crap in the bearings as well. If you are going through all that work it would pay to get fresh rebuild kit and parts.
