I think that's part of it but I also think it's a product of the shift to CUVs. SUV's like my Explorer have mostly shifted to be more car based, so if you need to or want to tow something weighing more that 4500 lbs you now basically have to buy a full size truck.

Sorry Chris I am with Jeff on this one. I see so many trucks that obviously never tows (not even a hitch), bed has never seen any kind of load and sits on wheels that can't go off road. And the drivers typically have no clue how to drive their big vehicles. They are the absolute worse when I am on the bike since they don't know how wide their trucks are. My friend says her husband is super stereotypical of that description hah.

Or something like we have. A 10-15 year old POS for pennies and do you minor repairs that scare everyone away.

I don’t disagree these are a significant portion of truck owners, i just know myself the size of vehicle I’d like to buy can no longer do the jobs I’d expect them to do. Cars have always been a status symbol, and trucks very much are the new luxury vehicle. You basically can send the message “i can afford an expensive vehicle AND also afford to spend lots of money on gas.”

So the Type R went for 40k. And Kristen Lee from Jalopnik agrees it's totally ridiculous.

That one looks pretty crazily modified. It's probably a fair price, but it's not right for a collector due to the mods.

Saving the best for last!

I thought long and hard about getting a V8 Aston. They're cheap enough now. But the potential downside was too great.

That GTM is really nice.

V8 Astons would be so awesome.. until the maintenance bill hits. Astons are seriously my dream car - just something about how beautiful they are and the sound..

B is for Build on YouTube rebuilt a wrecked Aston V8. He said the parts weren't actually too bad. Until he got to the $4000 windshield. He managed to get a good used one and got it installed without damaging it, but that was enough to turn me off.

The technology in the C7 is way cooler anyway

I might love Vettes.. but money aside I'd take an AM over one any day.

$41,000 for an old Type-R? No, thanks. An NSX that's at $34,000 right now - maayyyybe... If the NSX had a couple hundred more horsepower.......

GNX just ended at $60k. C5 doesn't do it for me.

Interested to see what that RX-7 goes for. At $6k right now with 6 days left.
