DCIV wrote: Thu Dec 18, 2025 2:26 pm Toni has a really high standard as well. Not that he shouldn’t. But this is also the guy that didn’t like our turns so he 3d printed an intermittent light tap turn for our cars….in like 2010.

Coop
He may have a high standard yes, but the transmission was grinding in most gears when he got it from them, and he had to completely rebuild it as it was trashed on the inside. Also there were pretty significant oil leaks from the engine, and he even pulled the engine to get everything buttoned up. So it's wasn't just like little nit picky things that were the issue.

And the 3D printed part he made was not because he didn't like the turns, it was just to make a tap to pass like modern cars have, nothing wrong with that :dontknow:
I’m not saying he is wrong and they sucked. They prob did. We’ve all seen other peoples cars that look great and they arnt.

The turns is deff him not liking the 3/s and liking newer ones better. Otherwise why change them? There isn’t anything wrong with it…it’s fucking cool. Point is 95% of people can’t do that. He can look at that and go, man I like how newer cars do this better and I’m gonna change it…while all looking factory! That takes a level of care that most can’t do. That is exactly what higher standard are, looking at something and saying you would do it another way…the correct way.

I love Toni. Hang out with him at lots of brgs. He fixed a problem for me on my car one brg and showed me something I had wrong without being a dick. He is on another level. That’s all I’m trying to say.

i think its a combination of things. that dude mainly does hellcat shit, hes done like 10 hellcat/demon swaps lol, the 3s is not familiar to him so it was probably just a quick flip for him. that or he just didnt know how to fix the issues and had other shit going on. dude always has multiple projects going on because he has to pump out videos regularly so he has to stack them. Not that its an excuse, i just wouldnt expect any of his builds to really be up to the standards of something youd wanna keep for a long time without touching.

I think part of it was it was sold as being in better condition then it actually was. And I think they did the purple car before his first hellcat swap but I could be wrong about that.

It was just a YouTube mule for the views. They actually did pretty decent with getting the car up and running. However, they started with a shitty donor vehicle. The majority of the issues if not all were around that. I have a list lol. There were soooo many things that were just like WHAT THE FUCK GUYS. I bought the car unseen because it was purple so I wasn't expecting the best lol.

The thing that got me the most the prev owner's friend or whoever did the trans, PEENED in the tapered bearing races in the case. If those races "back out" it's because the entire gearset escaped the case LOL.

I like his channel already. He does a lot of everything, but he admittedly likes hellcats the most at current. I cant blame him.

The names on these cars are ridiculous. I wish they had some close up pics of the roof mechanism. Especially the closure on the windshield header. It looks surprisingly good with the roof up.

Wife made me try it on while Christmas shopping in the mall. Needless to say it didn't pass the "cool" vibe check.

Ha that's kinda terrible. You definitely need a HUGE mullet to wear it properly. You're just too clean cut.

Took the car to the local Cars and Coffee this weekend. Its been cold out and the cars tires compound do not like the cold. Traction is abysmal. lol.

Saw a familiar body style to someone on here at the meet. ;)

69. Slight different body style to our 68, but yes, very familiar. I might take it out today. UPS is supposed to be dropping off the turn signals. If so I will put them on and take it out for a spin around the block. Make sure it actually stops and all the lights work. Brake booster was bad and was still set up for manual brakes with the pedal in the wrong position. So had to replace with a new booster and rods. It had a different length rod on the replacement I bought, but I also moved the pedal at least 6 inches lower. It was so high you could not get your foot on it without being a yogi master. Hasn't been out of the garage since I worked on the brakes. Should also fire up the corvette soon.

Our cars and coffee ended awhile ago and is not starting up again until April. Goal is to have the camaro ready to go by then.

Crap. You are right. Saw the gills and immediately went 69, completely spacing out that it was a firebird.

Speaking of 67, about half our car was a 67 and the rest a 68. Should have changed out everything at this point except the passenger door that was a 67.
