Mentioned this in shout or chat or whatever it is called now. But the lights I received are different than what is advertised on the website. Haven't had a chance to contact them asking but it looks like they updated their design or something?

What is listed on their site and looks same in their install video:

What I received (box says hybrid):

Going to try and install these tonight and see what they do/how they look and go from there. Might just be an updated design? Doesn't look like anything I can find on their site for trucks.

Got them installed. Need to wait for nighttime to adjust them if needed. I will probably do it in a couple of months when it is darker sooner or wait and do it one evening late. Simple set up is at 25 ft away, center of light should be at or right below height of headlamps and equidistant apart from center line. They will be a PAIN to adjust as I will need to remove everything again that I took off to put them on. No good access to adjustment screws. You can see them from up top, but no idea how the hell I would get a screwdriver in there at the right angle.

As you all know - OEM:

Now the new Morimoto Hybrids thanks to the big discount Jeff was able to get me:

DRL and Headlights ON - but daytime so not bright:

Sequential turn signals apparently that I was not expecting:

Looks great and I'm sure the night time light output will be so much better too

What the hell. Did they do a gen 2 hybrid or something? My understanding was the hybrid was LED everything except the turn signal. That's what's in your first photo and it just reuses your existing incandescent turn signal. Hybrids are cheaper because they have fewer main LED lights and no turn signal control electronics.

But they're not full XBs. Those have 3 big projectors down the middle.

They look awesome though. It's definitely a win.

When I was disassembling my lights, I noticed the low beams said COPLUS inside. So I looked it up. They're a Taiwanese lighting manufacturer. Your lights look like a variation of their 17-19 SD Essential series.

I wonder if Morimoto is the US arm of Coplus or something.

Interesting boxy look. Put some clear bra material over the clear plastic. Otherwise they will fade quickly.

Mori offers that but I didn't opt for it. Lamin-X Protective Film for $65 more. There is a local shop doing stuff on sale that did my vette tint. Might reach out them.

You could also buy a small roll of 3M clear bra material off Amazon for $20-30 and apply yourself with soap/water solution and an exacto knife. I do it to all my plastic headlights now.

It was definitely a complete surprise when I opened them up.

That and the sequential turn signals is a nice upgrade. These should definitely be more than the original hybrids. Almost wonder if they sent these by mistake?

I should also look at doing it on the vette. Sits inside but might be worth it

Yea, well worth the small investment. My Ram, wifes MDX, and the Cap all have them applied now. 100% stops all the weathering that happens to headlights. If you have lenses with lots of angles and curves it can be a little trickly. For those i use a heat gun in conjunction so it lays flat.

Local shop can do high end PPF material for $150 for both the vette and truck. I know I can try it for less than half that, but they warranty their work and can make sure it is done right.

For $150, I'm having it professionally done.

Yea thats not a bad price. With how popular those two vehicles they probably have their design on file and can quickly cut them on vinyl cutter.

Tossed my 92 performance tune back on. Kind of crazy how different it feels and moves.

Good chance I'm selling this.

After everything went south with the gym, then my injuries, I really never used it for the reason I bought it. I like it, and I do use it, but hard to justify the $ right now.

Ended up only putting about 5000 miles on it over the last 2 years. Doesn't make sense to keep paying on it.

I can easily get a trailer for behind the outback for bigger things.

We have some more unexpected expenses coming up too.

We could afford to keep it, but trying to trim the budget a bit to give us more wiggle room.

So if I can get enough time I will clean it up/out and list it.

I know we were talking about this in chat, and I generally agree with you. One thought I just had thought was if you do want to get a trailer for the Vette so you can tow it to the track. Starting over would probably cost more than you'd save.
