yeah im pretty sure its not legal to require dealer oil changes for warranty. same as voiding a whole warranty for something unrelated.

This is a dealership provided extended warranty so they have a bit more leeway.

There's "not legal" and there's "not legal and I'm willing to pay more than the car is worth to hire a lawyer to prove my point".

They'll find some scuff on a tire or a worn ball joint to void his claim under the guise of "abuse".

pretty sure everything labeled a warranty in the US has to follow the same laws regarding it, its a nationwide thing that covers much more than just cars iirc. but im not a lawyer.

this is what it comes down to. After my few experiences with warranties, i dont trust a damn thing unless its straight from the manufacturer.

I'm a hypocrite though. I got one for my truck. it wasn't too expensive and I really only got it in case something catastrophic happens. It's from a 3rd party, so there's no requirement to go to the dealer.

Mine was free. Looking at their site looks like I can take it to any certified shop.

Faq on it https://www.carrsubaru.com/carr-care-co ... e-warranty

That's why they are sold as 'warranty' but actually labeled in the contract as an 'extended service plan' or something similar.

They pretty much threw in the drivetrain warranty for free on the Jeep but it was such a hassle to deal with I ended up taking it to the local expert shop of my choosing when I had the rear diff rebuilt.

Wife says it's my turn for a decal.

Thoughts?

I mean I like the look now. Not sure if a decal will make it look too busy?

Still have to put on the rock sliders I have sitting in the garage. On my list of projects.

I think it looks clean the way it is. I wouldn't mess with it.

Just putting it here too, over under of getting rid of it is 3.5 years.
Coming up on 3 years in the next couple of weeks. No plans whatsoever to get rid off. Paid off. Decent MPG. Great all around car. Lifetime powertrain warranty.

Battery died. Past the 3 yr warranty. But I am pretty sure I had a bumper to bumper 6 year warranty. Wonder if it would have been covered? I left the old battery at autozone and grabbed a new one

Doubt a warranty would cover the battery unless something was mechanically wrong and draining it.

At 10.5 volts. Up from 0.25. Waiting for it to hopefully get to 12 before I try to do any testing.
