Got it - funnin' on the old Corvette owners. That's actually pretty funny, because it is oh so true. Seems to be changing with more "young" owners since the C7.

Not that I'm "young", but I don't dress like the old guys and my whole life doesn't revolve around Corvettes. At least not yet.

Yeah the guy has a pretty cool channel about detailing and other things. Even has a dedicated wash bay (where that video was filmed). He seems like he's a douche because he only buys the most expensive/best stuff, but he knows what he's doing when it comes to detailing.

Does anyone else think that the new C8 wheels (in black) just look like they have all been curbed up real bad? That little polished lip section does them no justice.

They look skinny and lack depth IMO.

Did I say I preferred chrome? LOL

No.

I said that the amount of polished part exposed on the rim makes it seem like it's curbed and not there on purpose :p

Not here either, but a polished lip on a black wheel looks like shit.

I don't prefer that look. It looks okay if you get the machined spokes so that it matches up with something, just just a floating shiny rim on a black wheel doesn't look good. There's also an all-black wheel option, which I do like.

We went and saw the car at a local Chevy dealer yesterday. I know they had a lot of people to work through, but it was still kind of a mess. They were letting people into the little roped off area in groups of ten at a time, and each group got five minutes. So if you were considerate, you got maybe 30 seconds to actually sit in the car. Some people were not considerate. Someone almost took Vira's fingers off when he closed the hatch while she was leaning over the car.

I'm glad we only drove fifteen minutes to see it. I wasn't too hot on the car to begin with, and now Vira feels the same way. We got back in my car with zero regrets.

It'll be November before I have a chance to see one. If I don't like it, I may consider just putting a supercharger on my C7 and call it good.

I like your styling much better. You did good.

The only thing I'd even consider trading my car for is a Collector's Edition Grand Sport. Based on the VINs there's only 84 with the options I want, and they still need to come down in price another ten grand or so before I'd seriously consider it anyway.

It's in the running for Performance Car of the Year. The GTR is getting really old and over priced. The Corvette will destroy anything at a lower price, and it'll run painfully close to stuff that costs 4-5 times as much. Unless there's something just fatally wrong with it, I can't imagine how it could lose. Unless they want those millions of hate-clicks. Then it'll go to the Supra :p

Here's the full list: https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/c ... 20-lineup/

BMW Supra
Lexus RC-F Track Pkg
Lotus Evora GT
McLaren 600LT Spider
Lamborghini Huracan Evo
BMW M2 Competition
Mazda Miata Club
Hyundai Veloster N
Chevy Corvette
Porsche 911 Carrera S
Nissan GT-R Nismo

BMW Supra. lol

I really can't see anything else in that list getting the award.

Supra is kind of so-so stock (looks like it wakes up with some mods).
Lexus RC-F - meh, more than a second slower than the Corvette 0-60.
Lotus Evora GT - better than the Lexus, but still a good amount slower and starts at $97k.
McLaren 600LT - lot of car, but for a shitload of money ($255k base).
Huracan Evo - similar to McLaren ($270k base).
M2 Comp - similar cost as Corvette, down about 90+ HP and probably in the running.
Mazda Miata - just doesn't excite me at all - bang for the buck, maybe, but not really much "new".
Veloster - nope.
911 Carrera S - $113k+, 443 hp, probably very similar to Corvette driving-wise - same old boring ass styling - I dunno.
GT-R Nismo - getting WAY too long in the tooth, they really have to come up with a significant update to it to keep it in the game.

Waiting for Mike to drop in and defend the Supra in 5, 4, 3, 2....

My wife asked about a Supra the other day. I was like...if you want one I’m all for it. Then she saw how much it was. Oh well. It was a fun 2 mins.
