Is that a mild steel? Stainless? Aluminum?

Coop
It's standard brake lines.

Changed the plugs on the car over the last week. Didn’t notice till today that somehow I put stock heat range in instead of one cooler. Kind of worried about that.

Car turned over to 176k today. I’m sad and happy to watch miles go up on the car. One part of me says don’t rack up stupid miles (like driving to swimming). Another part of me says drive the shit out of it till it breaks as its not worth much anyways. Lol.

I need a tune. I wish someone was near me that knows all of this.

I was running late to coach practice so I was in the sports car and driving fast. Well a gmc2500 was next to me at a light. He reved and was gonna put black smoke all in my window. Well that shit isn’t happening. So light turned and I took off. I had him hard till about 70 and then he caught up and walked me. Like that’s where I should be KILLING him. I’m running rich, I can smell it, and I think it killed my Wideband.

Kind of disheartening honestly. I am almost wondering if my clutch is slipping as I remember getting ready to shift out of 3rd but not being near the 120 that 3rd tops out in. Hmmmmm.

Oh well. Just another problem to tackle.

What tuning tools do you have? (Chrome, SAFC, ???). What kind of A/F ratio are you seeing now?

Chrome. I bought a new Wideband sensor and it died that same week. So I’m just watching knock at the moment.

Adjusted the parking brake and aired up a tire. Woot!

Anyone read about these 3/s with the ebrake ripping up? Never heard about it on 3si but lately (last year or so) seen people talk about it on Facebook. How is that even possible?

I have heard of it before and even saw it on one of the cars I parted back in the day.

I guarantee it happens because someone thinks they are cool and are trying to parking lot drift and just grab and yank the ebrake.

I mean I pull up on it hard when I park it but I’m sure not as much as parking lot sliding. Was more curious if there some where I should check or look at to see if mine is getting weak.

My Stealth had 194k miles on it. The mount points are still as solid as can be. If you aren't ripping the brake, its not ripping the floor. :rimshot:

So I’ve had the homelink installed in my car for a long time, just honestly never took the time to program the remote. Well while I was waiting for my oil to drain when changing it I took the time to do so. This will be super nice since I don’t carry keys and I’ve been driving my car too and from work! It was super simple like adjusting the parking brake that I just for some reason never took the time to do. But it works! I did the middle button as I want the first one to be for its garage when it’s installed!

So oil change and homelink programmed.

Woot!

I think I've found them on mccastercarr, gonna order them and check them out.

Brining this back. Finally got things measured.

The valve side.
They are .125” thick
ID are .384”
OD as long as they are bigger than .67

Nut side
Thick 1.25
ID .300
OD as long as they are bigger than .75

So looking in McMaster car.

The valve side I can find .125 thick, but the ID’s are .355.....so I am wondering is there such as thing as metric when it comes to this as everything there is standard.
https://www.mcmaster.com/90133a420

This was measured using a digital gauge and measured from the metal, not from the old washers.

Had a ruff day so I decided to do something in the garage. The spare starter has been staring at me. I’ve wanted to take it apart to see what all I could powder coat.

Well. It didn’t take long. On the butt of the starter there are two screws and two 8mm bolts. The screws will strip by just trying to turn them. The 8mm bolts are very long. Like 60mm. They allow the cap and the inside of the starter to come out. This also is the problem.

Around the edges of the starter are magnates (because electric motor) and at the very bottom there is one ball bearing. Well that’s just annoying to get to sit down in it’s hole. But once you take the cap off and get the guts of the electric motor out there are 4 spring loaded connectors that has to get put back in. I was able to push two in with the electric motor and one at a time the other two with a screw driver.

Problem is after that, it’s pretty much taken all away apart. I figured I would have a couple good pieces. That I could clean and paint. Nope. It doesn’t really assemble like that.

Oh well.

Powdercoating a starter seems like a major pain in the ass for a part that nobody will ever see.

They are calling for snow/ice. So I had to charge up the Humvee batteries and air up a tire, charging the Yukon battery and adding coolant, filled up a tire on the vr4 and charging it’s battery.

Hard keeping up with vehicles I don’t get time to drive. Lol.

Drove on the interstate in the forester yesterday, something felt funny, realized i had almost zero pressure in one tire lol. Whoops.

The Humvee had less than 5 but it has the run flats. Kind of drives better with them that low. Lol.

My car has a slow leak in the front drivers side. I’m trying to keep it aired up when I can. Battery as well, every other weekend I put it on 2amp charge for 8ish hours. Just to keep the battery decent.

The Yukon isn’t mine but he has a intake or head gasket issue. Still drives nice though.

I would have to buy a 24v one for the Humvee and one for the vr4. Eh. I just need to drive them more. In the summer it’s not an issue.

Well the car ran great for a while. Ran the dragon, took it to work a bunch. Finally today I had a problem.

First nice day, little cool (40’s) but was gonna get warmer quicker. I took the vr4 to swimming. On the way I ran into a viper, we played a little and flew by each other. We did line up but I launched and he didn’t, don’t know if he chickened out or what but we were reving so I figured it was on. Well after that I pulled into work and shut it off.

Go to drive home, cars trying to boost but not. You can hear the turbos working but it wasn’t building any. I stopped and checked the intercooler pipes visually and they were all connected. Later on when baby goes to sleep I will pressure test but I’m sure I blew an intercooler pipe in a way I can’t tell. Had to drive home with no boost!
