If I was smart enough to do that, I'd just reverse engineer the factory flashing stuff.

Which is something I want to do, but there's a few other things I have to learn how to do before I can climb that mountain. :(

Finally got the other head off. Was on way too tight. Going through the disassembly couldn't help but notice a few things that point towards the motor being apart or somewhat apart at some point. Orange rtv silicone on the oil pan as well as composite head gaskets. Checked a couple of bores out and they came up at 92.**mm. Right at stock spec.
My biggest worry out of the way.

Image

The oil pan. You can see where one of the rods was slinging shavings on the side and bottom of the pan.
Image

The failed rod is the Second from the left. You can see how it is very black and looks nothing like the rest. It appears to be the only one to fail but I will have to finish tearing it all down.
Image

Note the color and shavings.

Anyways happy the block is in tact. May not be able to say the same for the crank.

Not sure you all remember but the white Ram is coming back into the picture. Not sure why I am even entertaining this, but it is a good looking truck. Arg!

Yes, I do remember it. I'm not a big fan of the extended cab, but I really like it otherwise.

Buy the white one and sell me your red one :D

Now why do you have to go and say stuff like that?

Would you drive it straight back?

It'd be a 2-3 day road trip. It wouldn't be my first choice just due to the time of year, but it's an option.

Otherwise I'll start looking into shipping quotes.

Well let me talk to this guy again. I hate that the trans is shot complicating my trip.

You just towed your max to Idaho. Why can't you tow this one home?

My Focus is parked outside the office (Southwest Blvd, very busy) with a For Sale sign on it. It's going on Craigslist tonight. The Stealth isn't far behind.

You and Vira are having a great time with this. I'm glad it's good for some laughs.

The extended cab has some slight practicality to it. You can throw groceries back there, or at least throw a sub back there for some extra bump.

My Max moves under its own power making it easy to load. The White one I will have to wrestle getting on a trailer. It will not move under its own power.

Oh, I got it. The issue isn't towing...it's loading.

So even with the transfer case in neutral, it won't go? How tough is it to pull the driveshafts?

I guess this could answer some questions about repair parts. I wonder how difficult it is to get parts like shift forks and syncros.
