Yeah, the problem there is the car is laid out for a longitudinal engine layout. The AWD setup is, of course, transverse. The transverse AWD system has its weaknesses, and the fabrication required to make it fit would take as much, or more, than guys like VR440, or MDoe (LS swap guy) have done.

Re: Random auto pics/videos
You know, I honestly don't know why you couldn't use a Montero 4x4 trans for a RWD/4WD 6G7x setup. The ones with the super select transfer cases are 2WD/AWD/4WD-hi/4WD-lo and have a center differential, which can also be locked. I don't know if the gear ratios would be that favorable to drag racing, but it's not like you're forced to use the 4Lo crawler gear. The AWD mode can be used in normal street driving.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

You'd add a lot of weight doing it that way too. You'd have to figure out a way to put the Montero front running gear in there in order to use the Montero RWD style trans and transfer case.

Re: Random auto pics/videos
I never said it'd be easy
The only other thing I can think of would be using totally unrelated transmissions from other cars.
The transaxle in my Audi actually has the front axle shaft running through the flywheel. The flywheel has this big pedestal it sits on. It's weird as hell.

This is the dual-clutch version, but the standard 6 speed is laid out the same.

Or you do a layout where you run the front shaft through the oil pan, like on the RB26 GTRs. I think GM does something similar with their AWD sedans and Utes in Australia.

Shit....custom engine mounts, custom subframe, Dsm drops in.
I've seen some with a lot of money thrown at them, was just curious.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?

Clearly, a floor model.

That was great. ^
Re: Random auto pics/videos

I figured I would post one of the last photos I will have of the Pontiac. I finally got it cleaned up and got it listed for sale today. Hopefully I can get it sold and put some money back in the bank and put a little money toward the Stealth restoration.

Tailgater. The person in front couldn't get over right away because of the car merging from the on ramp.
I look at it like this, if the tailgater weren't tailgating in the first place then they wouldn't have gotten brake checked. The fact that they crashed after being brake checked showed their driving skills were lacking anyway.
