To clarify, he did not call them on Friday or Saturday. :p

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?

Vira got me a tag. :eek2:

There was an email for their docs team lead on one of the sheets that came with the document package. Vira sent him a very strongly worded email. I figured it would just be ignored or they'd give the same excuses customer service was giving. Initially, that's exactly what he said.

They can't do a CA tag because the car isn't being registered in CA, and MO is dragging their feet. :blahblah:

But then he had the bright idea to do a TX tag. Their docs team is in Houston.

Why in the fuck didn't they just do this to begin with?

Whatever. I've got a 60 day tag now. My wife is awesome.

They emailed the TX tag to Vira. They're overnighting a physical copy. Looks like TX has holograms like MO. But that's just a technicality.

At this point I shouldn't have to do anything but wait for MO to get their shit together and send my title and plates. I'm not even going to bother with the MO temp tag even if it comes. It'll only be good for 30 days. The TX tag is 60. Hopefully that'll be more than enough time to sort this shitshow out.

This is interesting. There are two types of Texas paper tags. Buyer and Dealer. I have a dealer tag.

Maybe it would be safer to run the MO plates from the white car.

This is just turning into a farce now.

FedEx just dropped this off. Click to embiggen and look at the text on the upper left.

I would have been SO mad about this if Vira hadn't pulled off this TX miracle.

On the bright side, there was a receipt from the mysterious 3rd party who's handling all this. Now I can contact them directly. :excellent:

Funny little bit of trivia. There's a copy of the previous CA title in here. The last owner had NOTAZ06 for the license plate

I love it. I'd do that if MO would allow more than 6 characters. I guess I could do NOT Z06. I don't like that as much though.

Ah that might explain why the CA plates weren't there. The vanity plate is technically owned by the person and can then be assigned to any vehicle they own.

Well, that's how we're different. I try to work within systems and rules and she just takes a machete to red tape.

Sometimes it works to spectacular effect. Sometimes the wait staff gets mad when she tries to order off the menu.
