I don’t even know if there is material to weld a hitch to. It’s very anorexic back there.

Had a bit of a busy weekend, but i have been dying to address my oxidized headlights on the Cappo. They weren't bad, but left unpolished they would start to yellow and fog up. Pretty much why i hate plastic headlights.




I have watched a couple videos on why and how to best permanently fix your headlight and it really only comes down to 2 options. 1) Sand down and professionally paint over the plastic (pro gun, or expensive single use aerosol) 2) Sand and apply clear bra material.

I choose #2 as i have seen final results (my truck) and it seems more resilient to chipping and could last longer. I picked up some 3M material:

I also had an old Harbor Freight Headlight Restoration Kit with sanding and buffing pads that I could use with a water sprayer to take all the oxidation off the headlight. Instructions say 3-5 minutes at highest speed, so i did just over 5 minutes. Just to be sure

Left film applied. Note there are some air bubbles. I had no idea of what i was doing and the film is not super stretchy so it bunches and adheres around convex shapes. While panicking I realized that in conjunction with my soapy water solution (applied under the film and on top) I could also slowly use my heat gun to spread out the material and much better stretch it. Heat gun made ALL of the difference. Only downside is I didn't focus on getting all of the small air bubbles out with the squeegee.

Right side went much better. I paced myself and got all of the bubbles out, trimmed the excess off and heat gunned it until I was happy with the result.




I went back and retouched up the other light. It looks much better now. All done!

Wow. They look damn near new now.

Now that I can see through my headlights i have noticed that they have a daytime running bulb. They sit just out in front of the beam, but I cant quite tell what bulb they are. Im really surprised at how neat of a feature this is. Pic shows the bulbs missing.





Also had to stop by Summit Racing on the way home the other day. Ran into 2 other midget sized cars, so i proceeded to park next to them as well. Mini Cooper, Toyota Iq, and my Capp. As im getting out the Toyota owner pulls up and gives me a best shocked face expression.

We chatted about our cars. He wants a Cappo now, and I want an Iq. He gets as good of gas mileage with a larger motor, greater comfort and much better parts support.





His is shorter and girthier than mine, however im longer and more streamline.

I think those are "city lights" or something to that effect. Basically when driving somewhere at night illuminated enough to see the road.you use those to dimly light up the headlights so others see you. At least that's how I feel like I was told about them.

Yea, ill have to check. I believe they come on with the marker lights and stay on with headlights.

Yesterday I had people on 3 separate occasions pull up and stop next to me in traffic (holding up traffic behind them) just to talk about the car. Its starting to turn into a daily conversation piece.

Ha, was like that with the Baja for the 6 or so months i had it running and drove it regularly before selling it to my parents. Now they have it as their towed behind their RV with them on their trip to Canada and Alaska. Every time I talk to them they tell me another story about people asking them about it

It’s fun and also sometimes annoying lol

I don't mind the attention. Its fun, and it puts a smile on peoples faces. Plus if people are looking at it then they are paying attention to me while driving instead of not noticing my little cup of Jo.

Finally got clear enough to pull the Capp out of hibernation. Told the boys i need to change the oil, so they got smart and grabbed their tools and sprang into action.





Also had to give her a bath and a partial wax. Good to go for the season.

I'm still jealous of this car.
