Yeah, but MR2 never had yaw control. :-)

Turn the nannies off on the C8 and I bet it'll be a real wild ride!

This is one of the better side by side shots I've seen.

There's a lot of ZR1 styling in the front of the C8.

I really need to see one of these in person. Driving me nuts. As it stand right now, from pictures alone, I still don't like it. At all. The more pictures I see the less I like it.

I wish I could come up with a better reason for why I don't like it. I just...don't.

I'm not a big fan of the NSX either. But I love the crazy origami designs of the newer Lambos, and I really like what McLaren is doing. Even the Senna. It's a mess, but at least it's a mess for aerodynamic reasons. There's a purpose to it.

It might be because the Lambos showcase the engine being in the back. There's a sense of something powerful in those designs. The McLarens don't have that as much, but their designs are more cohesive and exotic. Especially the 720S.

The proportions are all wrong. The front end is all scrunched up and the back end is too long and flat thanks to that huge golf bag trunk they forced into it. The C8 just looks like they tried to shoehorn an evolved C7 design into a mid-engine package.

Only time will tell, but I think I don't like it because it is no longer a "corvette" to me. Corvette always blurred the line between muscle/sports car and super car. This is trying to hard to be a super car at a sports car price.

Yeah, I'd be totally fine if they got rid of the rear storage area and shortened the back a bit. For the targa, just have some clips to mount it above the engine if you want to take it off and still have it in the car.

They probably wouldn't shorten it much anyways, since the rear wheels are far back. Maybe they figured with that layout they got the rear storage essentially for free anyways, so might as well put something there. But the rear end does need some work. Maybe that'll evolve for GS/Z06/ZR1.

I'd rather save the money and tune a used BMW than buy a fake new Supra.

So, so true. Would much rather have the C8 than the new Sup...BMW.

I'll have to catch that. I doubt there will be any word on Z06 (hearing 2022 now?)...

They're going to have to come up with some kind of explanation regarding the Z06 if the C8Rs end up running turbo engines in January.

C8R might have that flat-plane crank V8 instead? I don't know anything about their racing program, so maybe that's dumb.

Tempted by twin turbos, but thinking if the flat plane engine is around 600-650hp then that might be enough for me. Time to wait to find out what's all happening though.
