Not really. Would it come in handy? Yes because I will be building up my home gym and will need to keep renting to get equipment. But won't need it as much as before until the gym gets going. I figure around $2000 or so in rental fees plus gas will be needed to finish off the home gym.

So cheaper to just keep renting. Just hate having to drive everywhere trying to find one. Every time I have rented up here I have had to go to a different location because of availability. Would just be so much easier to have something to hop in and go.

Trying to think if I would use this for other purposes.

Lol 3500 lb axle but rate the trailer at 2990 to avoid putting brakes on it

Trying to think. Do I spend $50 for a trailer + premium gas - $5.30/gal - in my car averaging 17 mpg for 425 miles, or $190 + regular gas - $4.65/gal - in a uhaul van/pick up averaging 16 mpg for 425 miles.

Car route is $130 cheaper - but is it worth saving that for the headache of towing a trailer through the pass and around Portland?

$182.50 for your car.

$313.52 for renting a truck.

Ya. Got same numbers. Biggest concern is that I will need to run down and pick up everything on a weekday. Trailer + weekday traffic around Portland, especially when can't see well with it = nightmare. I'd almost rather spend the extra $130 to save myself the headache.

How much time would it take. Your time is worth money for sure.

Extra $130 for the truck vs the trailer. Can't be shipped to my house. Need to have it shipped to Portland because arrives on a pallet and the shipping company they use won't deliver here to my address - driveway/road doesn't have adequate access. It is about 3.5-4 hours there and another 3.5-4 back. So a full day of driving. Plus having it shipped to Oregon - avoid taxes and cheaper shipping.

Time wise it is about the same - go to uhaul and get at trailer or go to enterprise and get a pickup truck (same price for either uhaul with mileage or enterprise with unlimited mileage).

I'd rent a truck. Easier to handle in traffic and less wear on your car.

That is the route I am going to go. Just trying to decide between F-150 from enterprise or Silverado from U-haul. F150 will be nicer but uhaul will have 8 ft bed. One of the things I am picking up is 36x74" - not sure what size bed the f150 would come with from Enterprise.

Not that it matters as it is probably out of my price range, but a 2015 F150 with the 5.0 and payload package has a 3300 payload capacity and can tow 10k-11k.

Wonder what the price tag is on one of those.
