I know you are joking, but I used to do that shit when I lived in WI. Almost never shoveled the driveway. Pop it in 4wd and just drive through it. Would get a "running" start to power through the pile of snow at the end of the driveway that the plow truck would leave.

Yes but only when slipping happened. You can force it by applying the brake and gas at the same time. I 3 wheeled it on my driveway and could just spin a tire (they said that was a good way to break an axle) until I applied the brakes.

This is true and might have helped it. I think the tires were much more aggressive and bigger so bigger contact pad honestly.

I've owned at least 3 vehicles with torsen differentials, I know how they work too. You're latching on to one aspect of them and professing that is how it works always. The very nature of a torsen differential says it must send torque to both sides of the differential unless there is no resistance to one side. The reason they tell you to apply the brakes in the H1 is because it uses triple torsen differentials, and applying the brakes introduces resistance to the free wheel. This forces the torsen to send power to the other side. Toyota's ATRC operates on the same principle.

You said the H1 was only AWD if it was slipping, which isn't true at all...

If I can free spin one wheel then it’s not awd all the time.

it's still AWD, it's just not working....
