So much I don’t know. I would love it if the push button starter would fit on a predator. I see kits to add a starter with a diff bellhousing. Yes, I don’t need one as a pull start would work but I like it.
I also need to figure out wheels and bearings for the gray one. Tempted to sell the guy the engine for 200, then wait for HF to put the 212’s on sale and buy two. So then work on getting both going.

Getting frustrated with the guy over this. First communication was great. Talked on the phone and everything. Even asked a question about a kart and he replied. A little later I asked a follow up question…nothing. I just messaged him about got a kart, swapping over the motor soon and asked about safety stuff on the racers jacket and what not….nothing.
He’s gonna get a phone call.

Number 9 under kart about a safety cable….I don’t think I have that but don’t quite know how you would do that with hydro brakes?

Also a lot of my fasteners are correct but I need to check all of them.

So I will need a chain guard. That honestly seems about the only thing I don’t have that’s on the list. All the bolts are good with safety wire. I’m gonna have to ask about that brake wire. That’s odd.
The mychron3 has a corroded battery insert. Jeff thinks it’s just a simple circuit board and gonna try to either fix or make a new one. I bet he can prob fix this one.
I need to watch some YouTube videos about them as I believe they can do some really cool stuff.
I also need to figure out how to get this easily back and forth to work as I am just freed up to work on it there better.

A basic ramp and that little winch you have for the golf cart.

This thing has no ground clearance. It already high centered on the drive down the driveway. It’s less than an inch off the ground. The golf cart got stuck on the ramps and it has decent clearance. I guess I can drag it and it not really hurt anything. But I was almost thinking of strapping it to the stands and then pulling the stands up.

Uh oh. Like….it would save me a lot of fab and work if I just had to clean a carburetor. Obviously still use a throttle limiter. But uh oh.

Also asked the motor guy how to start it. He said I could try a drill. I’m guessing it needs to turn some serious rpm’s. So I asked if the other engine that has a starter could be adapted to the red kart. He said no, different flywheels and cases. Can not be done.
So that’s good to know. And saved me about 100 mind hours thinking about it.

Reading up how to start one of these things. The previous owners said he used a drill. In the 2000’s battery powered drills weren’t really a thing. So you could either buy a stand alone starter for 300-800 bucks or use a plug in electric drill.
Well electric drills have come a long ways. Reading up, using a drill can be dangerous as when the engine does start its faster than the drill and a drill will not free spin. So you could really hurt yourself.
The answer, a ratcheting adapter. Usually you would put them on a breaker bar to ratchet. So I go try and figure out what size I need stuff.
As it sits
Only to find out this is an insert
It’s 5/16 or 8mm. So I bought the stuff so I can do it with my drill without possibly hurting myself. Had to order it as none of the chains have it in my town.

Oh fun coop kart stuff.
Went to go start it today and you have to put the drill/extension through this plastic cut out. Well I did and I had my ratchet set correctly but the plastic moved it. Motor fired. Snap.
My magnate was too large so off to napa I go. I get a smaller magnate and a stronger allen key. Took a min to get out the broken part but I’m thankful there was no taking apart or anything.
After a couple smaller starts it hit a long one. Long enough it idled up….problem. Rear wheels started to turn. It’s on a cart. Wheels were touching. It started to move. Shit. It went long enough I realized I didn’t have a plan for turning it off!!! (I do now, a board to cover the carb). And shit a part keeps coming off.
Anyways. It will not pull fuel through the tube. Engine guy says it’s prob the carb gummed up and he’s prob not wrong. I really need to decide if it’s my ego trying to use this motor or it’s the right move. Because a HF one would be pretty simple.
Here is a little clip of it just starting.

Took the carb apart. Cleaned it. Put it back together. Now I have no start. ON STARTING FLUID!!! That really makes me think I lost spark. Everything will try and start on starting fluid. It just needs spark honestly. It’s got air…if it has a little compression. Even bad compression it will try and run.

I have spark. Cleaned the plug and put back in. Still no start. Took apart carb again and nothing wrong. Put back together. Still no start.
Prob gonna take dude up on his offer for this engine for the predator engine.
