I got a soft brush for my wheels. I'm not too worried about scratching them. They're already pitted a bit from road grit. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that well against brake dust. I think I need some kind of solvent to break it loose first. Normally I just use whatever is left of the soap after I'm done washing the rest of the car.

Iron decon. Meguiars all our purpose wheel cleaner is a cheaper one you can find easily. Spray it on, it reacts with the iron and turns purple, then you can just spray most brake dust off.

Ive seen this same info on multiple cleaning sites from chemical guys to dura coating. I would think...this is just me...once I got a wheel really clean I would put a ceramic coating on it, then I wouldnt worry about using said chemical as the paint would be more protected. But also if they were ceramic coated you would think the brake dust would come off easier.
I actually think you would know a little about this after using the stuff? Whats your thoughts?

Nope, its safe even on paint. Should decon your paint every 6 months or so as well.

You don’t have to use it every wash if your car is coated. Iron deposits will still get embedded in the paint over time though.

I used the iron remover stuff before ceramic coating the Stingray, including the wheels. You want your paint to be as perfect as possible before the ceramic, or you are just sealing in the flaws.

Wash> Decon> clay> polish> ceramic, in that order

I didnt ceramic coat the wheels on the Miata as they were powder coated after I coated that car which is why I asked the question.
I did coat the wheels on the Ford but honestly cant tell any difference with brake dust. It still needs to be cleaned like any normal wheel. They dont look scratched any of that matters.
Pretty sure I posted this in my thread about that ceramic coating in that theres no such thing as something you put on your car that takes away the need to do physical work to keeping it clean.

Honestly, iron decon on wheels and then just a hose works just as good as spending 10 minutes on a wheel with a microfiber. It’s amazing. At least in my experience the few times I’ve used it.

The brake dust just wipes off the Corvette wheels with the ceramic on them. I've been using one of those long soft wheel brushes and water to clean them the last several times, as it goes quicker and can get back in the wheel drum better than trying to jam a microfiber cloth in there.

Brillo pads get rid of all the bugs/dirt.
Just ask my grandpa who used on to clean off bird shit on my VR4 when I had it and left it in his driveway overnight...
