Because monies, and also because CA, but mostly because monies.
Do people not part out and have cheap factory turbo kits everywhere. Like every other platform. Seems like it would cost less than 1500 bucks. Prob more like 800?

Can't turbo things in CA lol. Well not legally. He could swap in an entire drivetrain from a newer year car and do it that way as long as he keeps emissions stuff intact.

Yeah can't just slap a turbo on it from a WRX anyways.

People do it all the time. There's a whole Facebook group devoted to it.

Spent a bunch of time cleaning it up today. It had been sitting under a tree for a few years, so it had quite a bit of tree crap in every nook and cranny. Here's a before shot:

Also took some time to figure out how the cargo bed pass through works.

Yep that's why everyone complains or talks trash about CA when modding cars. It's funny though because CA is the original epicenter of car culture and modifications.
Yes it has a midgate but it's not very big or useful.

Yeah. Though she's good from far, but far from good. Has a couple different areas where the clear coat is starting to bubble

Mostly just sourcing cats and transmission for now. Trying to decide if I want to do HG now or later.

If they aren't blown internally and just leaking a bit externally then I can wait. It's just probably not the best idea lol

I'll put it in the garage when I start working on it. It will go into the 3rd car spot in front of the Sequoia.

Have a hay day if it’s going in the garage.

Went to Costco yesterday and picked up a battery for it. Now I can easily start it and move it around the yard if I need to.
