We had fun shopping for it together, we had fun buying it together, and we've been having fun driving it together. That's all that matters.

I totally drove both my parents around and they loved it. I took it to the grocery store yesterday.
It IS fun to drive. It's no bigger than my parents suburban I drove a bunch in my 20s. It IS slow, if anything that's the most frustrating part. It's comfortable, easy to shift. Great view.
I really can't wait to drive it in the snow. I DO want to take it somewhere and go off-road, cause we can. My father said we should drive it to the mountains CO or AK. The gas will suck, but it would be fun.
This vehicle just says 'Look at me'. It's ridiculous, hilarious, and we never do anything so spontaneous and maybe a bit irresponsible. We're young(ish) and have money. So boo.

One serious request.... Please, please, please remove the bull bar!
The front is a bit gaudy with all the chrome. Thinking about changing the grill (black or body color) and blacking out the bar and wheels. I like the bar otherwise.

Definitely.
For when it snows.

I was going to pull it off the day we brought it home, but Vira likes it.

The problem with bull bars is they do the exact opposite of why people buy them. They make your approach angle worse, and they tend to cause more damage to the truck in an accident than if you didn't have it.

Is that light bar held on by magnets on your roof?

Yeah, the roof light bar is on magnets. I'm a little scared to take it off to see if the paint is messed up. I definitely need to fix the electrical connector though. It's wrapped in electrical tape and the exterior a-pillar trim is loose because of the wire routing. I need to see if the cowl is metal. I might move it down there like Jason did.
The paint is in really good shape for the age and the fact that it looks like it's seen at least light duty off road use. The worst of it is the rear fender flares have a lot of stone chips. They're plastic, so at least they won't rust.
Speaking of the paint, it looks red from most angles. But when the light grabs it just right, the orange really pops.

What happens when you like it so much you dont want to let it rust and paint chip in the winter?

I'm really not worried about it. It's spent its entire life in Nebraska and Missouri. I highly doubt it was garaged in the winters

I think this looks pretty damn good for an 11 year old, 165,000 mile GM truck. You can still read the factory stickers on the frame.

Maybe next summer.
Vira and I have discussed 'damage multipliers'. Negotiations are ongoing.

One of these days I need to show you guys the underside of my Volt. Approaching 70k miles and looks like it just rolled off the factory line.
Even the XJ at 20+ years old and from WI for 1/2 its life isn't that rusty looking. Some parts are really bad, but not all. We are the 2nd owners. First owner put rust proofing stuff on. The only rust areas are nuts/bolts and the two spots on the body.

I'm pretty sure I can win this game... The first generation Sequoia was recalled for frame rust issues, mine has 154k on it and looks great lol
