Supposedly the old 12 valve Mitsu V6s are non-interference.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

Yeah the SOHC 12V aren't I believe. I also know the old DOHC Chevy 3.4L that was in the 90s Luminas etc. had a timing belt on a non interference engine.

There are quite a few non interference. Many non vvti Toyotas, most Ford's.

Vg33 is listed as interference but I've yet to see one bend.

The SOHC 12V are non interference. I remember there was a base 99 3000GT years ago that the guy was selling cheap because he was told the engine was trash because the belt broke. I didn't have the funds to get it but I pointed Hans in that direction. He picked it up and told me what a disaster the timing belt stuff was from lack of maintenance, but all he did was throw a new belt and kit on it and it fired right up.

I'm pretty sure I was under the maintenance interval on the Focus. The Ford number was 100k, and the common wisdom on the forums was to do it at 90. I want to say my car was at 91 or so. I even had all the parts ready to do it. I was just too pre-occupied with the Spyder at the time.
