These are 1.5 inch spacers. They turn my stock 17x7. 5 et42 wheels into et4 offset. If I'm willing to accept another 10mm poke I can get some Method Racing wheels. Right now I'm planning on getting some Mamba M19s in 16x8 et13. This would pull the wheels in a few mm from where it's currently sitting.

Well I'm starting to get annoyed at this thing. Not long after having the passenger side exhaust manifold leak fixed the driver side is now leaking. I have a low pitched rumble that I cannot pinpoint. I'm not sure if it's a bad rear wheel bearing or if it's just the new shocks I put in are just transmitting more road noise than the old ones. Now Thursday afternoon the 6 disc changer in the stereo decided to stop working. I keep shopping for different cars, but don't like anything I find.

I’m looking at either $200 for a refurbished OEM radio or $550-$700 for an android auto compatible aftermarket unit. It needs tires they only have about a 1/3 of the tread left and the Goodyear Fortera tires are completely garbage. I’d like to go from the stock 29.5” tires to either 30” or 30.5” tires on some better looking wheels. Unfortunately the explorer basically uses car wheel sizes which makes finding wheels with proper fitment more difficult than a ‘standard’ suv.

The Exploders strike again! In all seriousness though. That stinks.

I searched for a long while and in the used marked we really liked the Hyundai Santa Fe and ultimately the Acura MDX we just purchased. We love it and it’s been quite reliable. Also corners better than my current 3s’s. No that’s not a typo.

I don't doubt you at all. I'd say our Outback handles at least as well as my old VR-4. My Legacy was a far better car than my VR-4 ever was.

Go test drive an mdx and put her in a turn. Make sure it’s the Super Handling package. I guess they tuned it on the neurmburg ring. Whatever they did it’s amazing.

I don't really have a need for another midsized crossover suv.

As in what am I willing to spend to replace the Explorer?

I'm not really sure. I think I could get $9500 for the Explorer, and I have about 5k in savings I'd be willing to use for a car. Basically I could justify about 15k total for a replacement. I don't want a loan.

I've searched for F150's, 4Runners, GX470s, Sequoias, NC Miatas, 3.0R Outbacks, WRX's, another Legacy like my old one.... I really have no idea what I want, I don't mind tinkering but I don't want to have to be working on it all the time.

Honestly the reality is I should buy the referb stereo, wheels and tires and just call this truck good. Then I should go and buy a good set of coilovers, 6spd trans, 3.90 torsen diff, install my seat, 6pt harness, clutch/flywheel combo, CSF radiator and Mazda competition motor mounts.

I've thought about it, but being in CA I can't do any fun engine swaps unless you're going to register it in NV for me and if that's the case I have a Miata for you to register too

The irony. I register mine in Idaho. Washoe county has smog laws almost as bad as cali.
