Ahahahahahahaha Fast and Base in the same sentence... that kills me. No offense NA owners but your shit is slow. I test drove a 99 auto as a potential DD car. The whole time I was waiting for it to show me what it had, very sad, the 6 speed was a little better, but if it aint got boost.... it doesnt feel the same. But I daily drive my VR-4.
I have to ask, was it a DOHC or a SOHC. There is a large power difference there. When my '95 base (DOHC) when it was stock I could whip up on stock Mustang GT's all day long until the '99 model came out.
The DOHC N/A was a decent car power wise for its time (even though it is wrong wheel drive). But compared to things on the road now, the N/A just doesn't cut it, which is why I now have turbos.

You should see the Idaho street racing forums, it's like someone ordered a retarded meal king sized.
SRT-4's all over the place.

It was a DOHC, I popped the hood to hear the tickless lifters and also jump the battery. I mean yeah the thing was ok... But hell it was weak sauce compared to what I am used to. The best part was the salesman, when I walked in he asked what I was looking for, I told him I wanted to test drive the 3000GT he had out front. He then starts to tell me all about how fast it was, and how the tuners and the street racers love those cars and how much attention it brings.... Mis-quotes specs to me on it.... I acted like I knew nothing and test drove it.
Got back and told him it had no balls, he scoffs and acts like I dont understand what fast is and mis-qoutes specs again. Which is when I gave him my Encyclopedia of 3S knowledge and ran him through generation power, features, changes, ... Then I informed him how much I would pay and he said that I dont know how much these cars go for and I should go price one, so I asked him what he would give me for mine parked in the lot behind his building. Went outside and he asked what year and model and when I said thos magic two letters and a number he shut right up. Asked if I really wanted to sell it, which I said hell no and if he felt like considering my offering to call me.
If I were to get another it would have to be another TT or at least have a manual so I can control the shifting to get more out of it. The Auto shifted so early for being floored.

Regardless, my TCU's overclocked so I can take it to 8,300 if I please. All N/A's are born slow, but not all remain that way.

I tried it in both, it just saddened me. I wasnt planning on buying the car to race, just daily drive. But I couldnt bring myself to pay so much for so little power.

I'm glad old Soapy and I are best friends now. As you can see, he didn't used to like me very much.Caffinated Soap to oxrageous on 10-5-05 wrote:I want to personally punch you in the face for even starting this thread. If ignorance is bliss, you must live like a morphine addict.

You have to come up with a reason? Most members can think of multiple reasons right off the bat.

ehhh, I have only grown to utterly dislike one person, and most know who that is. Real life, he probably wouldnt be worth my time, but I would still deck his ass for fun. Little scrawny poser.
Dont have too many people get in my face that much these days, dont know why though.
