He did.
I'll let Jeff recount the spilled coffee story.

I swear, if it weren't sitting in the driveway, you would have already told them to eat a dick.
[quote=""aaronatstate""]Keep pressing on with it. Like I said a year from now, you won't even think of the issues
You'll just be out driving it in your jean shorts, braided belt, and new balance shoes, on the way to cars and coffee at 6am

The least likely thing you'll see of that sentence is us up at 6am.
It's a big reason we haven't done some off road events.

You don't get a McLaren for ROI.

Whenever you use forceful and overt verbal persuasion to try to convince others to see things your way, they're probably not listening to what you say, Instead they're looking for every error in you your logic and mistakes in your facts, all the while constructing counterarguments. Worse still, they don't merely believe you're wrong; they need you to be wrong in order to protect the status quo. And since the final judge exists in their own head, you lose every time. - The Influencer
Is the level of bullshit you have to go through to change things in a direction you want, less than than or equal than the level of current bullshit?
Re: The Grand Sport

Speaking of which, I'm going to cancel the Shift warranty once this paperwork mess is sorted out. Because fuck them.
I think about all the things we could have done, all the miracles we could have achieved, if we were all just a little bit better than it turns out we are.

I think we're actually moving backward at this point. They supposedly applied for the tag on the 27th, and it would be 2-3 business days to get the tag in hand, at which point it would be overnighted to me. Yesterday I was told I'd have a tracking number by today, or at the worst Wednesday.
Of course I hadn't heard anything by 2:30. So I called them. I ultimately spent a combined 30 minutes on hold to find out that nobody has the tag, and they don't know when they will.

Do you even need a temp tag since you have the inspection stuff done?
Can you not just go get a real MO tag, or is there something else needed from them to get a real MO tag?

There is a shift dealer here in Beaverton. Do I need to go in and smack some people around for you?

If only it were that easy. It sounds like all the problems are with the Houston documents team and their 'local 3rd parties' at this point.Jason wrote:There is a shift dealer here in Beaverton. Do I need to go in and smack some people around for you?

I was already on that call way longer than I wanted to be. I'll take that step tomorrow.

Make the shift hit the fan!
Re: The Grand Sport
Okay. Record it and throw in as many shift jokes as you can. You all wouldn’t know a clutch is you stalled it out! Where did you learn to do paperwork…from an automatic? How many times do I can to call this shifting place!
It would go viral.

Re: The Grand Sport
Last night I was all set to put my Karen wig on and ask to speak to a manager. But then something amazing happened.
Someone called me back.
It was kind of a worthless call in that it didn't actually accomplish anything, but at least someone finally followed through on their commitment.
Anyway, I told her I needed an a concrete delivery date for the tag by close of business on Thursday. If I didn't, my next call would be to the lender (TD Auto Finance) to tell them I could not begin making payments because Shift had not delivered on their end of the contract. That being a usable car.
Her whole tone changed when I said that. Like it was a magic phrase. She said she'd process a refund of my first payment, and I had an email within 2 minutes of the call being over requesting a screenshot of the bill. I sent them a scan of the paper bill since I haven't set up an online account yet.
I don't care if they pay my first bill or not. I'm still calling TD on Friday if I don't have delivery date for the tag by Thursday evening. I'm likely going to call back tonight to have that supervisor discussion too.

She called me before I called them. I have not yet asked to speak with the mythical supervisor.
