Agreed Moog used to be great parts for a good price. Lately I've heard quite a few bad things though.

Still need to confirm they are but there was a grinding rotating noise while I was turning the other day so I’m sure that’s it.

I wanted to get better brake pad up front and new rotors since these are getting pretty groved so maybe I should just go all out.

I didn't have any issues out of the Moog bearings I put in my Grand Prix, other than a rear one failing, but with a 3 year warranty it was replaced for free under said warranty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that sounds like an issue.

Thinking I should just sell it and try to find the 2500 I wanted. I should get my money back out.

Well it did take 2.5 years to fail. The front two never gave me an issue and the factor of the 3 year warranty makes it worth it. Most of the other ones only have a 1 year warranty.

Hey, if you want me to take a dump in a box and mark it guaranteed, I will. I got spare time.

So I looked. Still can’t find a rust free low mileage one.

Been reading up on gear swaps recently, more out of bored than anything. A guy at work said he would change the rear just for fun, but the front he can’t do. Curious how much some place might charge me to do the front. 4.10’s or even 4.56 would be pretty bad ass, and it’s not like this truck ever sees 80...heck almost never sees 60.

What do you hope to gain by doing this? 4.10 is decently short and 4.56 is usually only used when you put some giant tires on after lifting it.

What gears are currently in it?

Some avalanches cams with 4.10 so that’s how it started. I have 3.73 gears. I posted up and asked about people who have them and what do they think. 4.56 gears got brought up as it’s only about 200-300rpm difference over the 4.10 and apparently really bring the truck to life a lot more.

Bought this for the avalanche.

Let’s all 6 lights be on when I turn on the brights. Gonna take drone before and after pics at night. Not that it’s any more distance, it’s gonna be a lot more light and for 20 bucks.

Long story but I have been hearing a thud when I turn and accelerate up hill. Not u joints as I get nothing from drive to reverse. So I was gonna chance the rear diff fluid. Learned long ago, make sure the fill plug comes off before taking things apart. It did, checked my dipstick I made as its suppose to be a max of 5/8’s from the fill plug. Well, nothing. Stuck the dip stick as far down as I could...nothing.

At this point I am thinking leak, even though I haven’t seen anything, so instead of dropping the cover I decided to add fluid to see if it A fixed the issue, and B if there is a leak I will have to take it all apart anyways. So I added a whole qt of fluid. The clunk is almost not even audible now. Hope my rear diff isn’t fubared.

It holds 2.5qts. So yeah. I drove it 50 miles today. No leaks. So I’m guessing it was under filled? I also went with a heavy weight than it called for because I didn’t take it all out and I was having odd sound.

That’s not a good sign. Likely some damage has already occurred especially if there is a clunk.

Well it has a what’s called they call a locker. I don’t know how loud it was suppose to be. I have to REALLY listen for it now.

I easily can have damage. I’m not gonna jump to conclusions though.

Installed the all lights board on the avalanche. Let’s low/high/fog lights all to be on at once. Instead of when brights turn in, the rest turn off. Let’s just say it’s a lot more light! I’m pumped.

Also I’m getting 13.5mpg done by hand. I don’t have a heavy foot but I didn’t realize plugs were 100k thing in 04, thought they were a 80k thing back then. So I’m gonna change those tomorrow.
