In spite of their unruly reputation most muscle cars are actually slow unless heavily modified.

60's tech is outdated. However there are lots of upgrades available to help bridge that gap. One good thing is you're only 3,500 lbs.

I'd love a better transmission, posi, and a regear. But that's not what concerns Danielle. She likes to cruise. Lol. I'm the one who wants to go fast.

Regear and add posi to rear is affordable and a valuable upgrade. I'm going to say it now, you will be doing that soon. lol.

I have asked her a few times. She keeps saying no.

When we had it out the other night. New alternator and power steering pump should be here this week. Hopefully exhaust next week. Then start prepping for paint.

I mean, it IS slow. A modern Camry will walk anything from back then pretty much.

It is a modified 350, I just don't know how much. Lol. Just carb, intake, and exhaust, or something else? That's why I'm curious on the power. Block is from the 70s or 80s but heads are from the 90s.

If the block is that old you're lucky if it has 9:1 compression ratio pistons.

Sanding and paint booth kind of set.
Going to finish sanding and see how much sheet metal I need to replace. Roll up the sheeting. Cut and weld. Then sheeting back down to primer and paint. Need to figure out exactly how I want to vent it yet. I have a window on the one side. Just need to hook something up.
Mentioned in chat, car has some pretty bad well hidden rear cancer I'm cutting out. Both rear quarters, outer wheelhouse, and tail pan need work. Drivers door arrived and has a little bend in a corner but fixable. Passenger seems good enough.
Jeff is going to look at sending me his dent puller.
Trying to decide if I want to buy or borrow a mig welder.
Once I strip off the rest of the paint I'll see how much I'll actually need to do.

For venting maybe see about a couple of cheap box fans, some filter material, and a piece of plywood about the width of your garage door. Cut holes in the plywood for the fans and then rest your garage door on top of it.

Can't open the garage door and have the sheeting the way my garage is set up. I'll have to vent out the side window.

Didn't do any other work this weekend on it. Dealing with some arm pain and severe back and sciatica pain. Hoping to get still get this done by April, but I am not too sure now. We will see.

Wow, thats a fair amount of filler on her. Can you get complete new rear quarters? I would slowly "spot weld" with a mig as you go.

I can, but the upper half is good shape. Just need around the wheel and lower quarters. It's a lot cheaper to get skins vs entire quarter.
