I like the silver a lot more... The orange was trying too hard to say "look at me, I'm a Hummer!", whereas the silver says "Yeah, I'm a Hummer - got a problem with that?"
Not sure about yours, but I had a pretty bad on center dead spot. Adjusting the steering box really helped. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akcikLT-1SE
And I got a v8 to back it up.

It's gonna be great once I get the exhaust fixed and upgraded. I swear there's a leak up by the engine, but I just can't find it. There's a really obvious leak where one of the hangers rusted out after the muffler, but I don't think that's what I'm hearing. It sounds decent even with the current problems.
I'm aware. I might see if the Max wheels will fit, just out of curiosity. The H3 needs a big center bore, and there are issues with clearing the 4-piston calipers.
They are a large center bore, but the Max bore is a little larger. If you like any of the latest Tacoma wheels you can get whatever size you want and they are the same bore as the Max.

Check to make sure you have enough air pressure. If it came with P-Series tires and someone swapped on LT rated tires you need a lot more tire pressure.

Im willing to bet you just dont have enough sidewall plies. You should probably be running a 10 ply setup with that heavy of a rig.

Your probably not including the added armor, bumpers and rack too. She is getting up there.

I figure it's probably closing in on 5500 lbs.

Today I fixed the driver's door....again. Previously I had installed a Dorman hinge pin kit. The bushings were too snug once everything was installed. It was actually flexing the pillar sheet metal slightly when I'd open and close the door. I had hoped it would wear in after a few cycles, but it wasn't.

So I stopped at Pick N Pull and got a couple of 'good enough' hinges off an 04 Colorado. The hinges come apart, so I was able to swap the part with the pins without taking the door off this time. It was SO much easier. Now the door closes like it should, and I'm happier. :)

I have the same tires but the all terrain version. Honestly they are ok but I'll definitely be replacing them sooner rather than later.

So remember how I said Pick n Pull 6.2s probably don't happen?

I saw this one when I was getting the Colorado door hinges. I guess I'll have to keep my eye out after all.

Intermission report.

This was a pain in the ass, but it wasn't as bad as I feared. There's still a pretty good amount of fuel left in that tank. I'm going to try to drain some off before we put it back in, but I don't think I have enough space for all of it unless I use a 5 gallon bucket. I'm not a fan of that.

I'm more worried about that feed line though. Even if I can get this one apart, I'm worried it'll leak when I put it back together. I can get a new one from Rock Auto for $56. I'm strongly leaning towards that option. It's soaking in PB Blaster right now. We'll see how it looks after lunch.

I'm just glad I can get that part separately. It's a shame though. Once it goes over the hump in the tank it's just fine.
